Duties and responsibilities

A/The Logistics Planning Analyst will be responsible for ensuring that all participants have access to the necessary resources to participate in the G20 meetings, in compliance with the expected international protocols and procedures, and focusing on needs assessment actions for the meetings, development of logistics plans and management of logistics execution. The Logistics Planning Analyst will work in close coordination with the Logistics and Transport Analyst, to whom he will be subordinate. To achieve the objectives, the following indicative activities are planned, among others.

o Develop logistical strategies to accommodate the specific needs of the G20 meetings, identifying logistics and transportation objectives and aligning these objectives with the overall objectives of the events.
o Manage a team of logistics professionals, ensuring they are well prepared to meet the demands of the event, establishing clear responsibilities for team members.
o Develop transport plans for delegations, including itineraries, schedules and modes of transport, ensuring the efficiency of delegations’ movements, in conjunction with security teams.
o Manage necessary supplies and materials so they are readily available and monitor inventories and ensure there are no shortages of essential items.
o Manage food and accommodation logistics for event participants, ensuring their needs are met.
o Implement logistics security measures such as security checks and access control.
o Manage logistical operations with other teams involved in organizing the event and maintain effective communication with all parties involved, including security agencies and foreign delegations.

The incumbent performs other functions within his functional profile that he deems necessary for the efficient functioning of the Project.

Institutional Arrangement

The Logistics Planning Analyst will be part of the team of the aforementioned Logistics Coordination Center allocated at the MRE and will be subject to the direct supervision of the Logistics and Transport Analyst of this MRE Center and the coordination of the UNDP project. This is a position financed by project(s), with an initial duration of one year, with the possibility of renewal during the validity of the initiatives.

Required skills and experience

Minimum education requirements:
• Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Economics, Engineering, Administration or related field is required; or
• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Engineering, Management or related field in combination with 2 additional years of experience will be given due
consideration in lieu of Master’s degree.

Minimum years of relevant professional experience:
• Up to 2 years (with a Master’s degree) or minimum of 2 years (with a bachelor’s degree) of experience in the area of ​​logistics and related events.

Required skills:
• Experience in major international events.

Desired skills, in addition to the skills covered in the Skills section:
• Experience in managing logistics professionals;
• Experience in logistics operations at large events (from 500 participants);
• Experience in managing logistics plans (transport, food, accommodation, etc.) for different delegations.

Required languages:   
• Fluency in Portuguese and English.
