Duties and responsibilities

The Logistics and Transport Analyst will be responsible for planning and organizing arrival and departure procedures, as well as all movements of participants, guests and teams during the official G20 events. He will also coordinate the transport and logistics support teams under his responsibility. To this end, he will work under the guidance of the MRE and UNDP teams. To achieve the objectives, the following indicative activities are planned, among others.

o Develop a comprehensive logistical and transport plan for official G20 meetings (including those that will not be carried out by the MRE), defining dates, locations and times, among others.
o Ensure that meeting locations run by the MRE are prepared to receive participants, including setting up audio and video equipment, translation (if necessary), conference rooms, food, among others.
o Coordinate with all interested parties, including government agencies, security forces, transport companies, hotels and other suppliers, actions necessary for the logistics and travel of participants and support teams to the G20 meetings.
o Coordinate the organization of modes of transport, such as cars, buses, helicopters, or other means of transportation, as necessary, and ensure efficient and safe transportation of leaders, delegations and guests, providing assistance to participants, when required.
o Coordinate the transportation of luggage, equipment and other necessary items.
o Coordinate the implementation of security measures in collaboration with security agencies.
o Consider sustainability measures in logistics and transport, ensuring the effective use of resources, and prepare periodic reports monitoring actions from logistics to transport and post-event evaluations.

The incumbent performs other functions within his functional profile that he deems necessary for the efficient functioning of the Project.

Institutional Arrangement

The Logistics and Transport Analyst will be part of the team of the aforementioned Logistics Coordination Center allocated at the MRE and will be subject to the direct supervision of the General Coordinator of this MRE Center and the coordination of the UNDP project. This is a position financed by project(s), with an initial duration of one year, with the possibility of renewal during the validity of the initiatives.

Required skills and experience:

Minimum education requirements:  
• Advanced university degree (Master’s degree) in Economics, Engineering, Administration or related field is required; or
• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Engineering, Management or related field in combination with 2 additional years of experience will be given due
consideration in lieu of Master’s degree.

Minimum years of relevant professional experience:  
• Minimum of 2 years (for Master’s degree) or 4 years (for Bachelor’s degree) of
experience in the area of ​​logistics and transport.

Required skills:
• Experience in large national events that have included national and foreign authorities and/or international events.

Desired skills in addition to the skills covered in the Skills section:
• Experience in developing logistics and transport plans involving different delegations.
• Experience in coordinating logistics actions for large events (from 500 participants).
• Experience in coordinating and planning logistics with sustainability actions.

Required language(s):  
• Fluency in Portuguese and English.
