Overview of the Programs:

IRC ‘s vision   includes the implementation of high-impact programs for people affected by the crisis, through the use of the organization’s learning and experiences, to support the most vulnerable groups affected by the critical situations they are   going through due to the crisis. unplanned migration, impacting groups of children and adolescents (NNA), parents, and women.   The objective of the programs implemented by IRC is to improve family and community relationships, reduce the use of   violence in homes, improve the possibilities of insertion of children and adolescents into their host communities, and improve their capacities to overcome the displacement that they face. These programs are implemented using research processes and studies carried out by IRC, based on its experience in crisis situations, and must be adapted and Colombianized, based on the context of the population, the receiving communities, and appropriate models. 

JOB DESCRIPTION

The CP/WPE – BHA Case Management Supervisor is responsible for the direct management of community relations and with organizations for the identification, characterization, selection and care of beneficiaries in project activities, specifically in Delivery. of Hygiene Kits for women, children and adolescents, Delivery of Kits for individual counseling and psychosocial activities aimed at women, girls, boys and their families.

The CP/WPE – BHA Case Management Supervisor is responsible for ensuring relationships and coordination with community organizations, Colombian public institutions, non-governmental organizations and linked social actors to guarantee community and institutional strengthening processes.

Position objectives.

  • Identify, characterize, select and serve beneficiaries in the project activities, specifically in the Delivery of Hygiene Kits to women, children and adolescents, coordination of creation of recreational recreational spaces for Sexual Education for Safe Spaces.
  • Participate in Institutional Coordination spaces related to issues of child protection and women’s empowerment
  • Facilitate information sessions on child protection issues aimed at caregivers, mothers and fathers and adolescents, as well as on the empowerment of women.
  • Articulate and coordinate with other cooperation organizations, civil society, private entities and institutions offering services, complementarity of services.
  • Direct support activities to strengthen government organizations.
  • Conduct training in the use of recreational sexual education tools.

To whom this position reports: To the Manager of Child Protection and Women’s Empowerment

RESPONSIBILITIES.

  • Adhere to the guiding principles of childhood case management and the best interests of the child throughout all case management and psychosocial interventions. This includes ensuring the confidentiality of information of children and adolescents and survivors and respecting their wishes and decisions.
  • Adhere to the guiding principles for the protection and empowerment of women
  • Develop age-appropriate case management, including assessment of client needs; development of action plans with clients; Support clients in searching for services and support.
  • Provide emergency care and first aid for children and adolescents, as well as their families in emergency contexts and crisis situations.
  • Coordinate care and first aid for the empowerment and protection of women
  • Lead age-appropriate and specialized group emotional services to be provided at IRC in conjunction with its partners  through identified or established safe spaces.
  • Work with the Safety Officer to share information and ensure IRC programs are responsive to the changing needs of communities.
  • Articulate with CP/WPE Program Officers for the development of complementary activities for the care of youth and adolescents.
  • Identify related concerns and support compliance with Child Protection and Women’s Empowerment referral protocols to present these concerns to Child Protection Management and WPE
  • Maintain effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders, including community leaders and other implementing partners.
  • Complete monthly activity reports, in accordance with the guidance provided by the Protection Coordination.

Monitoring Responsibilities

  • Maintain detailed and confidential case files in line with recognized best practices
  • Contribute to monthly reports.

Coordination & Representation

  • Direct and effective communication with other caseworkers and service providers as part of individual case management 
  • Regularly attend field-level case management meetings

Development of the program

  • Contribute to the development of activity proposals in relation to case management.

Monitoring and evaluation

  • Data entry, updating and purification of information.
  • Maintain case files and compile them into weekly reports to the supervisor.

Other Responsibilities

  • Other duties, as assigned by supervisor, to enable and develop IRC programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES IN SAFETY AND HEALTH AT WORK

Carry out the tasks derived from your employment contract subject to the safety and health standards at work, not only in defense of your own safety and health but also with respect to other workers and beneficiaries and to protect the facilities where you work, reporting dangerous conditions or situations to the immediate supervisor or internal bodies to the IRC NCA Safety Officer, for the prevention of accidents and/or occupational diseases so that actions can be taken in a timely manner. They will use personal protective equipment correctly and maintain it in good condition, immediately informing the person responsible for its supply or maintenance of its loss, deterioration, expiration, or malfunction.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Professional graduated in Social Work or Psychology
  • One year experience in humanitarian sector organizations or non-governmental organizations.
  • Experience in counseling, social work, or other related field
  • Understand and care about the well-being of children, adolescents and survivors of GBV and support their healing after the negative experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding and ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for clients and information provided by users.
  • Positive and professional attitude, including the ability to lead and work well in a team environment
  • Strong ability to maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, and work in a difficult environment
  • Fluency in Spanish is required, fluent English is desirable.
  • Residing in San Salvador

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Changing work environment.
  • The presence and movements of work geographically and the scope of the program may change as the program grows.
