Main Responsibilities:
Implementation of the Community-based Protection Project:
Support communities in establishing community representation structures for the DRC project with a gender and differential approach;
Promote the creation of trust and the resolution of conflicts between the population of interest, local authorities and the host community.
Contribute to improved protection and solutions for persons of concern through people- and community-centred approaches
Identify key community members and actors with whom to coordinate and plan joint community protection activities;
Support the population of interest to develop structures that improve their participation and self-protection;
Responsible for carrying out and regularly updating mapping of services in the neighborhoods through community participation.
Contribute to the design of the community-based protection strategy in the territory
Based on the community-based protection strategy, it prepares action plans for community activities, including awareness campaigns.
Conduct frequent visits to the intervention communities to ensure the implementation of the community-based protection strategy;
Develop community structures and procedures that enable the referral of protection cases to the protection team.
Coordinate community action plans with the DRC protection monitoring team and legal team
Contribute to the development of operational protection tools
Prepare weekly and monthly reports on community protection activities, community action plans and challenges encountered in the intervention neighborhoods.
Strengthen the capacities of key community actors through capacity-building mechanisms, monthly meetings and workshops in coordination with other Protection teams.
Represent DRC on issues related to community protection. Programming and Operations
Ensure efficient and effective implementation of the program while following the budget and work plan.
Participate in the preparation of monthly reports and budgets

Actively participate in the formation of the COPASST – Emergency Brigades Labor Coexistence Committee, as well as the activities they carry out.
Comply with the rules, regulations and instructions of the SG SST.

Attend OSH training defined by the SG-SST training program.
Ensure the maintenance of order and cleanliness in your position and work area.
Provide clear, truthful and complete information about your health status.
Immediately report work accidents, incidents (near accidents) and illnesses diagnosed as work-related to the OSH area and your immediate boss.
Report to the immediate boss the need to take corrective or preventive actions, which correspond to real or potential non-conformities of the process to which it belongs.
Participate in training activities, drills and those that are scheduled from occupational health and safety.
Participate and contribute to the fulfillment of the SG-SST policy and objectives.
Experience and Technical Skills:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant territorial experience in the implementation of social or humanitarian protection programs related to human rights issues.
- Field experience and work with refugees, migrants and internally displaced people.
- Demonstrable experience in creating community networks and relationships with stakeholders in marginalized neighborhoods.
- Knowledge of the context and humanitarian situation of the department of La Guajira.
- Basic knowledge about international protection.
- Experience in developing and implementing community strategies for vulnerable populations;
- Knowledge of community communication and participation approaches.
- Demonstrated experience and skills in humanitarian protection and a differential approach in protection responses;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent skills in MS Word and Excel.
- Excellent skills to work with tablets and computers.
- Willingness and ability to learn.
- Knowledge of the context and worldview of the Wayuu indigenous people, and ideally of the Wayuunaiki language, will be positively valued.
Education:
Professional in political science, law, social work, international development, psychology, human rights, among others of a social nature.
