ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT:
In July 2022, WFP El Salvador began the implementation of its new Country Strategic Plan (CSP) 2022-2027. Based on a comprehensive consultation process and analysis of the main drivers of food security and nutrition in the country, and based on WFP humanitarian assistance, the important themes of building resilience, adaptation to climate change and the modification of food preparation practices and eating habits as priorities for WFP’s program portfolio. Climate change multiplies existing threats to food security and malnutrition, will make natural disasters more frequent and intense, make fertile land and water more difficult to access, and increase agricultural productivity even more difficult. to achieve. It will have a disproportionate impact on the most vulnerable people, most of whom live in fragile areas prone to climate hazards, ultimately putting their livelihoods at risk, pushing people to seek opportunities in urban areas, often depending on the precarious informal sector or migrating irregularly out of the country.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Carry out specialized and/or standardized activities and processes related to policies and programs in support of the effective delivery of assistance packages.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- In coordination with M&E staff and other RAM support areas, prepare the annual work plan.
- Provide specialized technical assistance on monitoring and evaluation, follow-up linked to food and nutritional security programs, ensuring the focus on improvement in procedures, targeting systems and information management.
- Within their specific area of responsibility, collect data and support analysis and reporting (e.g. on food assistance needs, resource utilization, program progress or outputs) with in order to support operational decision making.
- Carry out thorough and timely data recording within the technical area of activity concerned (e.g. food security and vulnerability analysis), applying institutional standards and guidelines.
- Coordinate spaces for the dissemination and identification of aspects to improve the evidence generated in the M&E area to facilitate decision-making by the coordinating team.
- Supervise and/or review the work of support staff, providing practical advice and guidance, to help achieve objectives in accordance with agreed standards and deadlines
- Follow standard emergency preparedness practices to ensure that WFP is able to respond quickly and send necessary resources to affected areas at the start of a crisis.
- Work and exchange information with internal counterparts to support collaboration and effective implementation and monitoring of ongoing project activities.
- Provide support to communication activities with partners, agencies, NGOs and public institutions at the local level.
- Serve as a point of contact for the resolution of general queries regarding operations and, if necessary, request assistance.

EXPERIENCE TO PERFORM THIS ROLE:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation activities
- In the coordination of work teams of at least 4 people
- It has facilitated communication with technical teams (dedicated, for example, to nutrition, vulnerability analysis and mapping (VAM), etc.).
- He has participated in the development of Monitoring and Evaluation plans for projects related to the area of food security.
- You have facilitated or helped organize workshops on monitoring, evaluation and learning.
MINIMUM STANDARD ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: At least have completed the third year in one of the following majors: Economics, Statistics, Agronomy, Nutrition/Health, International Relations or another relevant field.
Languages: Knowledge of the English language.
IT package:
- At least intermediate knowledge of a statistical package (SPSS, R, Stata or other),
- At least intermediate knowledge of visualization software (Tableau, Power BI, Excel, or other)
