Responsibilities:
- Directly manage ERM activities, ensuring that personnel under their responsibility perform their tasks in accordance with their job descriptions, guidelines, standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure compliance with AICMA regulations (NTC) and the DRC-ACM POA.
- Categorize and organize monthly operational reviews and plans and provide timely information to staff on process changes in accordance with information provided by the ERM Coordinator, Field Technical Manager and Operations Manager.
- Participate in the planning and review of project design documents, producing a detailed monthly work plan and activity budget breakdown.
- Contribute to the development of new IEC visibility and ERM materials and key messages. Testing new materials/approaches.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation tools such as internal QA/QC in accordance with the DRC/ACM POA.
- Organize, conduct and supervise ERM socialization and training workshops for communities, in the areas assigned to DRC-ACM.
- Coordinate and supervise the network of community liaisons.
- Provide training to ERM staff and network, developing the relevant skills and capabilities to conduct mine action activities efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure compliance with national DRC/ACM personnel policy guidelines and ensure compliance for all direct reports.
- Participate in the recruitment process for new staff as appropriate (e.g. job description, interview, etc.); and responsible for the induction process for new personnel regarding their area
- Complete daily and weekly reports and submit to ERM Coordinator as required.
- Serve as a conduit to the National ERM Coordinator on matters related to team developments, e.g. sick leave, vacation, etc.
- Conduct mine risk education in communities following the operational plan.
- Train key people in the communities to become ERM trainers.
- Conduct interviews during evaluations in target communities.
Security and health at work
- Actively participate in the formation of COPASST – Labor Coexistence Committee – Emergency Brigades, as well as the activities they carry out.
- Comply with the rules, regulations and instructions of the SG SST.
- Report in a timely manner the dangers and risks latent with your workplace.
- Attend OSH training defined by the SG-SST training program.
- Ensure the maintenance of order and cleanliness in your position and work area.
- Provide clear, truthful and complete information about your health status.
- Immediately report work accidents, incidents (near accidents) and illnesses diagnosed as work-related to the OSH area and your immediate boss.
- Report to the immediate boss the need to take corrective or preventive actions, which correspond to real or potential non-conformities of the process to which it belongs.
- Participate in training activities, drills and those that are scheduled from safety and health at work.
Medical support, Command and Control:
- Keep the first aid and MEDEVAC skills that the organization instructs you updated.
- Know in detail the MEDEVAC Plans at your work site, base, camps and/or en route.
- Assist the Team Leader or anyone responsible at all times in the execution of the MEDEVAC in the event of an accident.
Logistics and resources :
- Ensure that the equipment and means at your disposal are used correctly, keeping them in perfect condition.
- of operability (cleaning and care).
- Immediately report all damage and/or loss of materials/equipment to the GTC.
- You must comply with traffic laws, vehicle care and maintenance and any other regulations that ensure the care of the vehicle.
- Support in the daily maintenance activities of the areas inhabited by DRC, camp, demining areas and others related to the organization.
Cross-cutting responsibilities :
- Attend special training as required.
- Apply humanitarian and DRC principles in the exercise of their functions.
- Be willing to carry out other tasks, in which DRC-ACM trains you, for the best fulfillment of the objectives and indicators of the program, for example, performing tasks as a Community Liaison, a Deminer, or a Vehicle driver.
- Comply with the organization’s code of conduct and Local Safety Standards.
All DRC staff are expected to undertake the following general duties:
- Work within the framework of DRC’s core values and standards.
- Be familiar with and adhere to all DRC policies and procedures.
Education: (Include certificates, licenses):
- Complete bachelor’s degree
- Basic and advanced ERM course.
Desirable:
Equivalent training and positions in other organizations are valid:
- Course and accreditation of non-technical study.
- Experience in Internal Quality Control and Quality Assurance Process.
- EOD I and 2 course and accreditation or Clearance
- Technician or Technologist in some area of knowledge.
- Certificate in Labor Skills in ERM with SENA
- Certified as Trainer of Trainers in ERM (ToT).
- Management of local languages
Languages:
- English desirable.
Experience:
- Two (3) years of experience working with communities.
- Demonstrable ability in socialization and communication of content, to interact with the community and national and local authorities.
- Computer management and data acquisition.
- Skill in writing documents.
- Demonstrable experience leading work teams.
- B1-B2 driving license (Required)
