Tasks and responsibilities
Specifically, the CBO Management/Gender Specialist will undertake the following tasks:
On Community Based Organization Management
• Develop an Inception Report on the activities related to the engagement as CBO Management/Gender Specialist.
• Support the conduct of training workshops relative to strengthening the capacities of the CBOs in terms of management, finance, business planning and other related workshops.
• Facilitate the accreditation of the organized CBOs with the LGUs, Ministry of Labor and Employment (MOLE), Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR), and where possible to the appropriate BARMM agencies;
On Gender
• Ensure that the recommendations from the gender analysis of women and men in the project are implemented;
• Ensure that project activities are carried out at times and locations convenient for women beneficiaries;
• Assist other project specialists in organizing community-level training as needed, focusing on women’s leadership and participation and specific training for women on skills needed for the project (incorporating SEAGA for emergencies. See http://www.fao.org/docrep/008/y5702e/y5702e00.htm);
• Ensure that the endline study includes an assessment of how the project implementation has contributed to reducing gender inequalities or eliminating gender biases that surfaced in the gender analysis of women and men in the project.
• Carry out any other relevant duties within his/her technical competence as may be requested by FAO
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
Minimum Requirements
• University degree (master’s degree preferred) in social sciences, gender and development, rural development or other relevant disciplines
• At least five (5) years of relevant experience in gender and development, livelihoods or community organizing and demonstrable experience in development projects in the Philippines and essentially in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao
• Working knowledge (level C) of English and Filipino and/or any dialect in Maguindanao is an advantage
• A National of the Philippines
