Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the UN Trust Fund’s reporting and results sharing, including summarizing progress reports and evaluations to extract information for resource mobilization and advocacy efforts;
  • Support the UN Trust Fund’s communications efforts, including extracting information from summaries created to support external communications efforts related to grantee results, evaluations, in the lead up to International Women’s Day and other advocacy opportunities for the UN Trust Fund;
  • Support the extraction of human-interest stories from grantee reports to support individual giving and digital communications;
  • Support the team with the creation of visual assets;
  • Provide support in the creation of monthly thematic digital communications materials;
  • Provide support through research to aid in partner stewardship to advance resource mobilization and advocacy efforts;
  • Provide logistical and other support for events, such as UN Trust Fund webinars and advocacy events including transcribing and notetaking;
  • Support updates to the UN Trust Fund’s information sharing tools such as its Trello boards with new content from communications plans, as needed; and
  • Perform any other additional tasks required to support the advocacy and communications functions of the UN Trust Fund, such as support with data analysis and PowerPoint presentations.

Required Skills and Experience

Education:

a) Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (such as a master’s programme, or higher);
b) Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (such as bachelor’s degree or equivalent);
c) Be enrolled in a mandatory national service programme of which the internship may form a part;
d) Have recently graduated with a university degree (as defined in (a) and (b) above) and, if selected, must start the internship within two-years of graduation.

Language:

  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in English are required.
  • Working knowledge of another UN language is an advantage.
