DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Within the framework of the delegated authority, the incumbent will have the following roles and responsibilities, in close collaboration with other WHO departments, regions, and relevant stakeholders:
- Support the organization of meetings, information sessions, trainings, workshops, seminars, etc.
- Support the development of advocacy materials and contribute to the development, maintenance of the UHPR website, and updating of the content and tracking.
- Assist the development of communication plan that aligns the UHPR strategies, including stakeholder engagement plan etc.
- Support activities to promote and advocate for UHPR inside and outside the organization, at all levels and across multiple sectors.
- Contribute to the preparation of briefings for Member States, WHO senior management, and other stakeholder, as well as bulletins and governing body processes for the UHPR. Support the development of briefing templates to effectively communicate UHPR progress and updates of the process.
- Assist the coordination and management of the UHPR-TAG (Technical Advisory Group).
- Work closely with colleagues in the UHPR secretariat to ensure optimization of relevant processes and avoid duplication.
- Provide logistical, operational and other support to the UHPR secretariat in the conduct of their functions, as needed.
- Support the work of the Director’s office upon request, as well as outbreak response capacity building and leveraging the COVID 19 pandemic response investments through operationalization of UHPR as needed.
- Support to the ongoing pandemic and other outbreaks as part of strengthening the UHPR mechanism through a multisectoral, whole of society approach.
- Perform any other duties as requested by the supervisor.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Essential: University degree in health-related sciences, development studies, international relations, public health or related fields.
Desirable: Training in communication, advocacy or multilateral mechanism.
Experience
Essential: At least 5 years of relevant experience in national or international environment and multisectoral engagement, collaboration or partnerships.
Desirable: Relevant experience working within a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment. Experience working for an international agency. WHO or UN experience is an advantage.
Skills
Demonstrated knowledge of public health in general and stakeholder engagement for health in particular, complemented by skills in the field of development studies, international relations and health system assessment (use of appropriate instrument, data collection, analysis and write-up of results, conclusions and recommendations),planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

REMUNERATION
WHO salaries for staff in the Professional category are calculated in US dollars. The remuneration for the above position comprises an annual base salary starting at USD 64,121 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable), a variable post adjustment, which reflects the cost of living in a particular duty station, and currently amounts to USD 4692 per month for the duty station indicated above. Other benefits include 30 days of annual leave, allowances for dependent family members, home leave, and an education grant for dependent children.
