Duties and responsibilities
The Data Science Associate will support data analysis and identification of inconsistencies, in addition to supporting actions linked to Artificial Intelligence in the Program. The selected professional will work in collaboration with the focal points at CNJ and UNDP, providing technical support for implementing projects and monitoring deliveries. To achieve this objective, the following indicative activities are planned:
• Provide support in extracting and processing databases, cleaning data, assisting in identifying inconsistencies in databases, as well as assisting in coordination with data manufacturers;
• Provide support in the development and implementation of solutions with the aim of resolving data inconsistencies, as well as assisting in the structuring and organization of the various data sources used by the CNJ;
• Provide support in the production of reports and panels with descriptive statistics and the use of graphs, tables, maps, infographics, as well as assisting in the development of predictive and/or classification models;
• Contribute to the development of CNJ diagnoses and databases and statistics, as well as supporting audit activities on data and AI models;
• Contribute to the systematization of new methodologies and knowledge developed within the scope of projects, in order to facilitate the transfer of knowledge to the CNJ;
• Support in the approval of tools and other systems developed with a view to implementing the deliverables projected in the projects; and
• Perform other tasks, as required by supervision.
Institutional Arrangement
The person hired will be supervised by Project Management and Technical Project Coordination.

Required skills and experience
Minimum education requirements:
• High school diploma required;
• University degree, preferably in the areas of Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Information Science or related areas will be given due consideration, but is not a requirement.
Minimum years of relevant professional experience:
• Minimum of 7 years (in case of completed high school) or 4 years (in case of university bachelor’s degree) of professional or academic experience in the area of data extraction, processing and analysis.
Required skills:
• Excellent oral and written communication skills;
• Skill in using information technology;
• Knowledge of the office package;
Desired skills, in addition to the skills covered in the Skills section:
• Experience in data extraction, processing and analysis;
• R programming language;
• Python programming language;
• Experience with extracting relational and/or non-relational databases, preferably Postgre and/or ElasticSearch;
• Experience in data visualization tools such as Qlik Sense, Power BI, R Shiny and Kibana;
• Previous experience in projects with Judiciary databases will be considered an advantage;
• Experience in projects or activities linked to the public sector or the Judiciary.
Required languages:
• Fluency in Portuguese.
• Fluency in English will be considered an advantage.
