Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the CoE Director, the consultant will have the following duties:

  • Support in the technical implementation, development of the activities, plans and processes of the Além do Algodão Project, within the scope of agriculture and specific technical area of ​​work ensuring alignment with the program’s general policies and guidelines;
  • Carry out awareness and information actions related to the activities of the Além do Algodão Project and CoE Programs, such as interventions and presentations at meetings; in coordination with the CdE Board;
  • Initiate and organize activities, missions, seminars, workshops, monitoring of national and international delegations, necessary to fulfill the objectives of the Project Além do Algodão and the CoE Partnership actions;
  • Work with national and international counterparts to create common understanding and coordination of activities related to the Além do Algodão Project and CoE Partnerships;
  • Carry out field visits to support the evaluation and improvement of the planning, programming, execution and monitoring process, which affect the activities and results of the Além do Algodão project;
  • Carry out technical support actions and specialized knowledge in the field of agriculture and agricultural innovation, strengthening the innovation of CoE projects and programs, through specialized support to the CoE Board and unit heads;
  • Promote coordination, organize and execute partnership activities with private sectors and between WFP country offices, in coordination with the CoE management;
  • Initiate and support administrative and operational activities such as purchasing, travel, recruitment and financial matters, in order to ensure that processes are met in accordance with standards and deadlines;
  • Prepare reports and collect data analyses, ensuring that project results comply with the standards of the organization, the CoE and the Além do Algodão Project;
  • Develop and evaluate profiles for new partners and projects;
  • Perform any other necessary functions related to the consultancy topics.

Qualifications

Education : Degree in agricultural sciences (agronomy, zootechnics), exact sciences or an area related to the objective of the position. Postgraduate or Master’s degree in project management.

Minimum experience: Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in agriculture or rural development projects. At least 4 years of experience in articulating partnerships with the public or private sector. Experience in international cooperation for the development of projects related to the topic will be considered an advantage.

Language: Oral and written fluency in Portuguese and English. Working knowledge of Spanish will be considered an advantage.

Knowledge : Training and/or experience using computers, including word processing and spreadsheets. Theoretical and instrumental knowledge of topics related to food and nutritional security. General knowledge of the UN system, administrative policies, rules, regulations and procedures will be considered an asset.

Remuneration Package : For this position the specialist will receive a gross monthly salary of R$ 18,652.69 . The contract includes a co-participatory international health plan for the consultant and his/her dependents (spouse and children), in addition to life insurance.
