KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (non-exhaustive) :
The CBT intern will be placed under the direct supervision of the CO Pay Office CBT Program Associate. He/she will be responsible for data consolidation at the national level, including the implementation of conditional and unconditional cash transfer activities.
His/her main tasks will be to:
In general: facilitate the implementation of cash transfer operations (CBT);
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of cash transfer operations in the field, including: supervision of beneficiary awareness; control of cash distributions; list control (inclusion/exclusion), etc.
- Write short analysis and summary reports and propose areas for improvement in relation to the operational aspects of monetary transfers
- Maintain lists of CBT beneficiaries (update them if necessary); Ensure that all CBT transfer data is reconciled and record them in a timely manner in WFP – COMET corporate systems;
- Maintain the database linked to the main CBT activities planned and carried out for better measurement of expected results
- Ensure regular support with partners (financial and technical) for an effective information and reporting system.
- Carry out any other task entrusted to him by WFP.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Education
Be currently enrolled in a recognized university/training school and have completed at least two years of study of the bachelor’s degree; or have obtained a license in the last 6 months.
Be currently enrolled in a recognized university in a Master’s cycle
Knowledge and skills:
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Demonstrate intellectual curiosity
- Knowledge of standard office software packages, e.g. Microsoft word Excel, PPT, etc.
- Demonstrate tact and courtesy in accordance with the ethics of the institution
- Ability to work to deadlines and follow clear instructions.
- Be of Senegalese nationality
- Applicants who have any of the following relationships to WFP staff members are not eligible: sons, daughters, brothers or sisters.
LANGUAGES :
Perfect command of French
Intermediate level in English
DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE INTERNSHIP
• Good general understanding of WFP’s overall operations and activities in the country of assignment
• Familiarity with humanitarian principles and processes
• Good communication, negotiation and coordination skills
• Good knowledge of work standards and policies of the assigned unit
TRAINING COMPONENTS/LEARNING ELEMENTS
Throughout their mission, PAM interns have access to a cutting-edge learning platform, WeLearn. Depending on opportunities and availability of funds, interns may participate in WFP workshops or seminars, as appropriate. Interns will ensure compliance with required course requirements in accordance with organizational guidelines:
- Mandatory PAM courses.
- Skills development Rule 70|20|10.
- Undertake a minimum of 3 technical courses in the respective field of work.
Other Job Requirements
- Interns receive a monthly stipend from WFP
- Internships must be carried out in person
- WFP is not responsible for living expenses, accommodation arrangements and related costs.
- Once you have been selected for an internship with PAM, please be prepared to provide your recent academic record, i.e. proof of enrollment or degree, as well as course transcripts. WFP will recognize the qualifications of applicants from recognized institutions that have been certified by relevant international or national authorities such as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) or Ministries of education.
- The duration of the internship is 6 months, full-time.
- The intern will have to read and write in both French and English.
- This is an internship and does not constitute a long-term work commitment.
- Most positions at WFP require min. 3 years of experience, the internship is therefore a step towards knowing the PAM for a future return.
