Duties and responsibilities

In this role the IT Project Associate will be responsible for supporting projects implementation, assuring high-quality outcomes, and enhancing efficiency and effectiveness. This includes providing technical input and support for projects implementation, guaranteeing innovation, technical efficiency, quality, and effectiveness, and supporting planning, monitoring and evaluation activities of the projects, in articulation with the Project Manager.

Summary of Key Functions:

1. Provides technical support on implementation of projects, including technical evaluation of technology, innovative and disruptive IT products, planning and monitoring IT implementation strategies, monitoring of good practices for technology products, and related activities.
2. Interact with the technical teams of the projects, monitoring deliveries, analysing technical products, holding meetings, specially granting that the deliveries made are aligned with the best technology practices, with the rules of international technical cooperation, the national law, aways seeking the sustainability of the products developed.
3. Supporting planning, monitoring and evaluation activities of the projects, in articulation with the Project Manager, including follow-up, on a daily basis, with projects partners and donors, to guarantee smooth technical implementation of activities of the project;
4. Support the timely preparation and submission of progress reports, donor reports, project reviews, and any other required project reports, organization of project reviews meetings;
5. Participation in selection processes for Letters of Agreement signature, as well as undertake activities related to LoAs monitoring;
6. The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization..

Institutional Arrangement

The IT Project Management Associate will work under the overall guidance and the supervision of the Project Manager and Coordinator of the Justice and Governance for Development Unit.

Required skills and experience

Requisitos mínimos de educação:
• Secondary education (Complete Education at High School Level) is required.
• University degree (Bachelor’s degree) in administration, public policy, international relations, computer science, engineering, law or related areas of humanities, technology, or social sciences or related areas will be given due consideration, but it is not a requirement.

Anos mínimos de experiência profissional relevante:
• Minimum 7 years (with Secondary education) or 4 years (with Bachelor´s degree) of relevant experience in practical working experience in project management, preferably with hands-on experience in technology projects implementation.

Habilidades necessárias:
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Skill in using information technology.
• Knowledge of the office package.

Habilidades desejadas, além das competências abordadas na seção Competências:
• Post-graduation or certificate in project management, preferably with an emphasis in technology projects implementation
• Experience with the agile methodology in project management will be considered;
• Experience in the areas of Justice, Human Rights, Public Security or related subjects will be considered;
•Experience requirements negotiation for innovation projects will be considered;

Idiomas exigidos:   
• Fluency in Portuguese is required;
• Working knowledge in English is an asset.
