Major Responsibilities: 
  • Conduct outreach activities to identify clients for the Women in Action Program. Complete screening, intake, and assessment requirements. 
  • Organize workshops on a multitude of topics and coordinate with guest speakers and interpreters to provide workshops that meet the needs of the clients. 
  • Facilitate group discussion in a safe space utilizing trauma informed approach tools.
  • Assist clients with navigating barriers to program attendance including transportation and childcare. 
  • Conduct research on existing services that clients need and make referrals to those programs including domestic violence resources, mental health services, and economic well-being services. 
  • Maintain accurate records of case files and client data and take necessary steps to obtain relevant program data. 
  • Assist clients with mapping their short and long-term goals.
  • Attend regularly scheduled team meetings, communities of practice meetings, all-staff meetings, and meetings with other IRC staff and volunteers as part of the review, evaluation, and program maintenance process.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education: Relevant degree or equivalent professional and/or lived experience 
Job Requirements:
Work Experience: Minimum 2-4 yrs. progressive work experience in social work or relevant field
  • Experience working with non-native speakers of varying levels and backgrounds required 
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating adult classrooms and workshops
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • The ability to network and diplomatically manage a variety of internal and external relationships required.
  • Solid organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks, set priorities, effectively manage time, and meet deadlines required.
  • The ability to work effectively with partners and colleagues in a cross-cultural, multi-disciplinary environment required.
  • Familiarity with the greater Seattle area with special regard to existing social service support systems desired.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Commitment to anti-racism and ongoing learning required.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English; Fluency in an additional language relevant to current refugee populations desired.
Working Environment:
Standard, professional office environment (flexible remote and in-office).
 
Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget.  Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
