Mission and objectives
The Office of the UNHCR was established on 14 December 1950 by the UN General Assembly. The agency is mandated to lead and co-ordinate international action to protect refugees and resolve refugee problems worldwide. Its primary purpose is to safeguard the rights and well-being of refugees. It strives to ensure that everyone can exercise the right to seek asylum and find safe refuge in another State, with the option to return home voluntarily, integrate locally or to resettle in a third country (www.unhcr.org).

Context
The UNVs mission will be executed in the electoral context for the presidential election of February 25, 2024 in order to strengthen the implementation of the peace and social cohesion project implemented by the SNU agencies in Senegal. The graphic design will then make it possible to rely on a certain number of relays to popularize awareness messages, especially on digital platforms and relying on other UNVs but also on renowned influencers.

Task description
We are looking for 10 online volunteers who will, under the direction of the communications focal point of the joint United Nations Peace and Social Cohesion project in Senegal and in close collaboration with the communications team, produce graphic designs for the 25 messages keys to the project’s communication plan, variations adapted to the different social networks X, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook in FR and/or national languages ​​with animation formats. To these key messages can be added any other visual on the campaign or the vote and the results deemed relevant by the Project Steering Committee. In particular, each Online Volunteer is asked to: – Collect information about the context of the document/material, such as target audience, design style, branding guidelines, etc.; – Create a draft design based on the requirements and discuss it with the focal point/communications team; – Develop the design based on agreed requirements. The design and layout must follow UN design guidelines, which will be communicated to online volunteers in advance.

Requirements
Required experience
Applicants must have professional experience in the field of graphic design, with prior experience designing document layouts, and must have extensive knowledge of graphic design applications, as well as good communication skills oral and written. A degree in graphic design or a related field is considered an asset.
