Duties and Responsibilities
1. Lead global coordination of Gender Equality Accelerators (GEA) implementation, reporting and communication
- Lead the development and rollout of guidance and standard tools to support integration of GEAs in the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Frameworks (UNSDCFs), UN Women Strategic Plan, Strategic Notes and project development, Joint Programme partnerships and resource mobilization proposals at the country level.
- Coordinate GEA Leads on provision of strategic guidance and technical support to regional and country offices on GEAs.
- Oversee development of and implementation of a performance monitoring and reporting framework on the impact of GEAs as a programming approach and strengthening of UN Women systems for collection and analysis of performance data.
- Lead development and implementation of an external communications strategy for visibility of UN Women’s results and impact through GEAs.
- Coordinate the development and implementation of partner engagement strategies to develop strategic partnerships and mobilize support for GEAs.
- Oversee development of briefs and presentations, internal and external reports and communication products and any other strategic documents, as required.
2. Oversee internal coordination, coherence and knowledge management around the Gender Equality Accelerators and UN Women Strategic Plan
- Lead the development and implementation of a knowledge management and learning strategy for GEAs with standard approaches for identification, capturing and sharing of promising practices and lessons learnt and knowledge product development across all GEAs in collaboration with the Knowledge Management Specialist and GEA Leads.
- Coordinate the preparation of internal and external products for outreach on SP development results, including presentation of results by Senior Management to Executive Board.
- Provide inputs for the PPID in-depth analysis of results in collaboration with the Knowledge Management Specialist.
3. Lead the enhancement of development results monitoring and reporting against the Strategic Plan of UN Women
- Oversee development of global guidance and provision of technical support by Impact and Outcome Leads and Indicator Managers to COs and ROs on reporting on development results of the Strategic Plan.
- Manage the process of data quality assurance and validation, analysis, and preparation of inputs on development results by Impact and Outcome Leads for corporate reports including the Executive Director’s Annual Report (EDAR), ECOSOC reports, SG’s reports and others.
- Oversee the communication of impact, identification of promising practices, challenges/lessons learnt and development of human impact stories, case studies and country examples to be incorporated in the EDAR and the Transparency Portal and other external communication material.
- Manage the overall coordination of EDAR drafting and quality assurance review of the PPID Directorate focusing on development results in close coordination with SPU.
- Ensure UN Women 2022-2025 Strategic Plan Mid-Term Review recommendations are addressed in the current and upcoming Strategic Plan.
- Identify opportunities for efficiencies and system improvements for the implementation of the SP in close collaboration with SPU, SPRED.
4. Oversee planning, results monitoring and reporting of PPID SN and BWPs
- Manage PPID planning, monitoring and reporting processes including development of PPID Strategic Note, BWPs and annual reports as well as coordinate data entry in corporate system, as needed.
- Ensure PPID Strategic Note and PPID BWPs are aligned with the UN Women Strategic Plan Integrated Results and Resources Framework to ensure delivery of UN Women’s mandate.
- Manage quality assurance processes and implementation of UN Women RBM principles within PPID planning, monitoring and reporting.
- Lead the development of a workplan to strengthen RBM capacity within PPID, in collaboration with the Knowledge Management Specialist and the Results Monitoring and Reporting Officer and SPU, to enhance implementation of UN Women Strategic Plan.
5. Lead and manage personnel under their supervision
- Manage the performance of personnel under their supervision by provide managerial direction, guidance and leadership as well as performance feedback and coaching.
- Ensure performance assessment are completed on time and identify learning and development opportunities to support personnel’s engagement.
- Ensure all personnel under their supervision are fully aware of UN Women’s workplace relations policies.
6. The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.

Required Skills and Experience
Education and Certification:
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in international development, gender equality, public administration, public policy, or other relevant social science field is required.
- A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- A project/programme management certification (such as PMP®, PRINCE2®, or MSP®) would be an added advantage.
Experience:
- At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in multistakeholder engagement, including coordination and strategic planning and programme development processes is required.
- Relevant experience in programmatic coordination in the area of women’s empowerment and gender equality is required.
- Strong communication skills and demonstrated experience working with external stakeholders is required.
- Relevant experience in managing and/or conducting results monitoring work at country, regional and/or global level is required.
- Relevant experience in managing and/or preparing results reports with use of quantitative and qualitative data at country, regional and/or global level is required.
- Relevant experience in providing guidance and technical support to personnel and/or partners in the areas of monitoring and/or reporting is required.
- Experience in the use of computers, office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.), and web-based management systems, and up-to-date, advanced knowledge of data management tools and database packages.
- Experience working in gender equality and women’s rights at the international level is desirable.
- Experience working in developing countries within the UN system, Agencies, Funds or Programs is desirable.
Languages:
- Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of another official UN language is desirable (French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish).
