IRC UK is part of the IRC global network, which has its global headquarters in New York. Our team in the UK works to raise profile, deliver policy and practice change, and increase funding to help restore health, safety, education, economic wellbeing and power to people devastated by conflict and disaster. Since 2021, IRC UK has also provided integration services directly to refugees in England, a programme that is rapidly growing.
In Europe, the IRC also has offices in Berlin, Bonn, Brussels, Geneva and Stockholm.
Job Overview / Summary (What and Why):
The Entertainment Relations department has established itself over the past 13 years as a trusted philanthropic partner among industry execs and artists attracting luminaries who are committed to supporting the IRC’s mission. The Entertainment Relations team develops relationships with accomplished actors, musicians, chefs, athletes, authors, writers, directors, producers, film companies, agencies, and managers to elevate our brand, advocate for policy change, and assist in fundraising.
The Manager role will be under the direction of the Director of Entertainment Relations and will work with colleagues across IRC’s media, events, digital, philanthropy, marketing and fundraising teams to conceptualize and implement engagement activities in support of using our celebrity supporters in effective, inspiring and memorable moments.
This role will help support the entertainment team’s priority to expand and better leverage our IRC Ambassadors’ participation in speaking engagements, panel discussions, keynote addresses and testimonials.
This person will research and approach celebrities who resonate with audiences in IRC’s growth markets such as South Korea, Middle East, Europe, and Latin America.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Help build spokesperson opportunities both internally and externally for our talent.
- Be a partner in supporting global offices who are looking for celebrities to help them deliver on goals with strategy, research, and guidance.
- Explore new and inventive opportunities to create impactful moments that deploy our ambassadors in outstanding ways and elevate the thought leadership of the ambassador program.
- Work with the team and key internal partners to develop domestic and global events (live and virtual) ranging from high level intimate gatherings to large dinners, thought leadership conferences, policy forums, corporate partner meetings, keynotes during briefings etc.
- Own all aspects of event project management, coordination, logistics, production and execution of thought leadership events and track and record outcomes.
- Socialize all thought leadership events to internal team members.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Work Experience:
Strong experience in entertainment.
Skills and Competencies:
Ability to work efficiently and creatively with a diverse array of external and internal collaborators in a way that represents the best of the IRC. Strong communication skills, with emphasis on creating “situation where everyone is happy” outcomes. Ability to perform in an active environment, be flexible, and work well with colleagues.
- Shown project management skills (in-person and virtual) with the ability to balance multiple time-sensitive tasks simultaneously and prioritize tasks appropriately.
- Meticulous planning and tracking with persistence, perseverance, and resourcefulness around each task and project.
- Excellent social skills with the ability to communicate and collaborate successfully and respectfully with talent, entertainment industry executives, colleagues, and refugee/asylee clients.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Resilient and able to remain calm in high pressure situations.
- Ability to think critically and problem solve quickly and effectively.

The Salary for this Position is GBP 50,000- GBP 59,000 per annum
