Mission and objectives
UNFPA in Tunisia Working in Tunisia since 1974, and as part of the new cycle of Tunisia-UNFPA cooperation which was developed over the period 2015-2019, the office will rely on dialogue, policies and advocacy to promote sexual and reproductive health, reproductive rights and facilitate access to services for the entire population. The emphasis will be placed on two pillars: the first, strategic, concerns the adoption and integration of a necessary package of sexual and reproductive health services. The second pillar, contributory, will include, on the one hand the production of evidence which will inform policies and, on the other hand, the promotion of reproductive rights, including gender equality, and the empowerment of women, by contributing particularly in monitoring the implementation of Tunisia’s international human rights obligations.
