Mission and objectives
Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, established in December 1991 by General Assembly resolution 46/182. OCHA is the part of the United Nations Secretariat responsible for bringing together humanitarian actors to ensure a coherent response to emergencies. OCHA also ensures there is a framework within which each actor can contribute to the overall response efforts. OCHA’s mission is to mobilize and coordinate effective and principled humanitarian action in partnership with national and international actors in order to alleviate human suffering in disasters and emergencies; advocate the rights of people in need; promote preparedness and prevention and facilitate sustainable solutions.

Task description
The volunteer will get familiar with the activities and tools used by OCHA to strengthen Accountability to Affected People. During the assignment they will assist the AAP Information Management Specialist in creating a dynamic dashboard using PowerBi, to facilitate analysis and visualization of the AAP global landscape data.
The dashboard will be used to support advocacy and fundraising efforts, as well as to enhance field support activities across OCHA offices.
Volunteers will be asked to attend meetings in the Central European Summer Time (CEST) zone.
Requirements
Required experience
Working knowledge of English.
Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel and PowerBi
Languages
English, Level: Working knowledge, Desirable
