As the integrator for collective action on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within the UN system, we are committed to supporting the Government of India’s national development vision and priorities and accelerating the achievement of the SDGs for the people and the planet.

Context
The UNDP SDG Acceleration Unit acts as an integrator for furthering SDGs in the states and Union Territories. It comprises of 3 Regional Offices-North, North East and South Region and two state offices in Odisha and Uttarakhand.

The unit is also providing technical support to the Planning Departments of various state governments through its specialized convergence unit called the SDG Coordination Centre for a directed approach on SDGs at the state and UT level in states like Haryana, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Nagaland, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir. These offices are actively engaged in partnership with the State Government Departments to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as outlined in the Agenda 2030. Through this collaborative effort, the office aims to support the State Governments in implementing and promoting initiatives in sustainable development in specific state prioritized areas like tribal welfare, water management, enhancing climate resilience, health, agriculture, localizing SDGs at grassroots, etc.

To that end, the unit is seeking the assistance of Online Volunteers for supporting the state and regional offices of the unit in conducting secondary research, documentation, analysing partnership trends and in the implementation of projects.

Task description
Specifically, Online Volunteers will be tasked to:
• Systematically map and analyse Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives and philanthropic investments in the development sector.
• Identify key trends, sectors, and regions where private sector entities are actively involved in promoting social and environmental impact.

Requirements
Required experience
• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, economics, development studies or in related fields.
• Basic Secondary research and analysis.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to analyse large sets of data and reports and synthesize complex issues.
• Good team player and ability to adapt to change in work environment.

Languages
English, Level: Fluent, Required
