Sanitation and Water for All (SWA) is a global alliance of over 400 national governments, donors, civil society organizations and other development partners working together to catalyze political leadership and action, improve accountability and use scarce resources more effectively. The ultimate goal of the Partnership is to achieve universal access to water supply and sanitation.
The Secretariat of the SWA global partnership is hosted by UNICEF at its Headquarters in New York and Geneva. The SWA Secretariat is responsible for supporting the Steering Committee, Global Leadership Council, promoting the country-level engagement of partners, and organizing global High-level Meetings of finance and sector ministers.
The consultant will support with the improvement and maintenance of SWA’s website. These might include, for instance, the development and styling of a web page, bug fixing, the improvement of existing pages and functionalities or publications of articles and other information.
The communications of SWA are managed and coordinated by the Communications Team (CT) based in the SWA Geneva office. The CT also works with a wider network of suppliers, from designers and copywriters to video producers and translators.

How can you make a difference?
PURPOSE OF THE CONSULTANCY
The consultant will undertake tasks in order to support SWA website, ensuring site maintenance, overseeing CMS updates and security upgrades, and designing attractive and user friendly pages linked to key initiatives (SWA’s Mutual Accountability Mechanism (MAM), High Level Meetings, etc.) as well as recommendations for improvements.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
- An advanced university degree is required in computer science, software development/engineering, information technology management, or another relevant technical field.
*A first-level university degree in a relevant field combined with an additional two years of relevant professional experience above the minimum experience required may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree. - A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in web design, development, and content uploading/integration using the latest platforms and programming languages.
- Extensive experience designing for both desktop and mobile, as well as iOS, Android, and other types of devices and operating systems.
- Proven track record in programming and CMS development, including in Drupal, HTML, and PHP.
- Previous experience working with the UN or non-profit organizations would be an asset.
- Knowledge of French and/or Spanish is highly desired.

Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
