Context
UNFPA is the United Nations sexual and reproductive health agency that works to achieve three transformative results by 2030: end the unmet need for family planning, end preventable maternal deaths, and end gender-based violence and harmful practices. This OV assignment is part of UNFPA’s programmes work to ensure that women, adolescents, young people and marginalized groups, including persons with disabilities, live free of gender-based violence. UNFPA implements GBV programmes in more than 150 countries globally, and 88% of UNFPA offices actively implement GBV prevention programmes and interventions. The mapping of GBV prevention interventions specifically will contribute to support knowledge management and exchange on existing effective approaches to prevention, and will inform the development of guidelines.

Task description
The Online volunteer will conduct a mapping exercise of UNFPA GBV prevention interventions across all six regions where UNFPA implements GBV programmes. Under the guidance of the GBV Specialist, the OV will conduct in-depth online interviews with 20 country offices on GBV prevention programmes. This information will be compiled and presented in the form of a 50 pages report.
Requirements
Required experience
Candidates should have research experience on gender-based violence prevention in the public sector and/or international organizations. A degree in a relevant field and proficiency in qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis is preferred.
