PURPOSE OF THE ACTIVITY/TASK
It is required to have one or more professionals to provide the simultaneous interpretation service from English to
Spanish and from Spanish to English in accordance with UNICEF requirements.
Therefore, one or more Long Term Agreements (LTA) will be established.
The LTA is a non-binding Agreement, that is, it does not constitute a commitment to acquire the services.
The LTA will be established considering: i. a fixed validity period (1 year); ii. fixed terms of reference; and iii.
fixed unit price(s), in accordance with Annex 1.
The LTA will be established for the initial period of 1 year with the possibility of extension for a second year and
subsequently for a third year, as long as the consultant’s performance has been satisfactory.
The LTAs will not exceed three years.
SERVICES
Simultaneous translation from Spanish to English and from English to Spanish during meetings, seminars, conferences, workshops,
field visits (in Lima or other regions where UNICEF works) and other events.
Services will be carried out in accordance with the requirements of the thematic areas throughout the year.
Considerations:
– The consultant must maintain strict confidentiality regarding the information and documents to which he will have access
during and after the end of the contractual period.
– The LTA will be issued for a reference amount, which may be adjusted depending on the services that are requested by
UNICEF during the contractual period.
– If the budgeted amount is exceeded, UNICEF, in accordance with its procedures, will issue a contract in VISION.

- Payments in local currency Soles.
- Payments for services to the full satisfaction of UNICEF.
- Payments within 30 days of product approval and receipt of Fee Receipt.

SERVICE AT ALL COST
The services performed against the LTA will be at all costs, so any unforeseen expense required to perform
the service will be covered in its entirety by the professional.
TRAVEL
If travel is required, the costs will be covered by UNICEF.

SUPERVISOR
The supervision and evaluation of the work carried out will be the responsibility of the area officer who requests the services.
LTA period: 1 year, with the possibility of being renewed for up to 3 years.
Assignment of Tasks and Products/Results: According to the requirements of the areas.
Delivery Time: As coordinated.
Minimum qualifications required:

Technical evaluation
Factor 1 – Academic training
Degree or specialization in translation and interpretation.
– Accreditation: CV / P11

Factor 2 – Experience
Experience in translation and interpretation.
Present three (3) contracts or references from three (3)
clients.
– Accreditation: CV / P11 + 3 works + 3 references

Economic Evaluation
The economic offer must be presented in local currency, according to Annex 1.Final Evaluation
LTA will be established with the professional(s) who meets the minimum requested in the technical part and presents an economic offer suitable for UNICEF.

Individuals engaged on a consultancy or individual contract basis will not be considered “staff members” under the United Nations Staff Regulations and Rules and UNICEF policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits. provided for therein (such as the right to vacation and medical insurance coverage). Your conditions of service will be governed by your contract and by the General Conditions of Contract for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Individual consultants and contractors are responsible for determining their tax obligations and paying any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
