The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) – Geneva Representation office – is currently seeking a maternity cover to work at 80% in the role of Supply Chain Coordinator in the Support Service team in the Geneva Representation servicing the Geneva Representation along with Geneva Hosted Entities (HEs).
About the job
The Supply Chain Coordinator (SC) is responsible for all procurement of goods and services, transportation of good and people, and general logistics support to DRC Representation Geneva operation and HEs.
You will ensure the efficient and effective delivery of goods and equipment, to optimise service quality and cost effectiveness and to meet the needs of DRC Geneva Representation and HEs.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Coordination
- Contribute to the daily operation with comprehensive knowledge in logistics and procurement.
- Lead the coordination with the Hosted entities to ensure logistics & procurement involvement in the whole programme cycle.
- Responsibility for assigned operational budgetary lines within Hosted entities.
- Ensure proper communication and coordination with service providers.
- Procurement
- Ensure that procurement policies and procedures are rigorously followed.
- Procurement of all goods and services (ITB, RFQ, SQ, RFP).
- Track all orders, purchases, and deliveries.
- Oversight of all purchase and service contract to ensure DRC’s interests are protected.
- Optimize all logistics operations to increase cost effectiveness including setting up longer term supply contracts.
- Ensure DRC supplier due diligence is effective, including vendor vetting.
- Ensure proper documentation of all procurement processes and assisting with audits requests and preparations.
- Coordinate and participate in tender opening committees.
- Logistics
- Transport: management of all transportation of goods and people to-from areas of operations and-or other DRC offices.
- Premises: health and safety, contract management and repairs/maintenance at DRC premises.
- Vendors contract management, including purchase agreements (locally and globally), purchase orders, payments, certificates of work and serviced, etc.
About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to have relevant experience in a similar role, and more importantly that you are proactive and quick to learn. Specifically, we are looking for:
Required
- Minimum 3-5 years of working experience in a similar position.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask under pressure of deadlines
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently
- Team player
- A good understanding of the procurement rules and regulations of major international donors
- Experience working in an (I)NGO
- Full professional proficiency in English
Desirable
- Working experience from an international humanitarian organisation
- Good command of French desirable

We offer
Contract length: Fixed term contract at 50% for first month and at 80% for the rest of the duration of contract.
