About Us

International Rescue Committee (IRC) is an international aid organization founded in 1933 at the suggestion of Albert Einstein. Since then, IRC has been supporting people affected by political crises, war, persecution or natural disasters. IRC Germany was founded in 2016 and is involved nationwide in the areas of education, career & orientation as well as protection, legal advice and participation.

In order to strengthen our Career & Orientation program area and to implement support offers in the area of ​​professional orientation and labor market integration, we are looking for a job coach at the locations Halle/Bitterfeld-Wolfen, Salzlandkreis, Wittenberg and Dessau-Roßlau as soon as possible. The Career & Orientation area covers topics from career orientation and labor market integration, especially for women and young people, to promoting self-employment and starting a business, to teaching everyday and career-relevant skills for refugees in Germany.

The position is linked to the project “I’m IN!” – Getting started with work through career orientation, advice, empowerment”, a regionally oriented project of the WIR – “Networks integrate refugees into the regional labor market” program. The WIR program is run by the European Union together with the federal government (Federal Ministry of Labor and… Social (BMAS)) funded by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF Plus).

Your area of ​​activity 

  • Individual advice and support for job seekers in their professional integration into the labor market.
  • Analysis of the professional skills and interests of job seekers and development of individual career plans.
  • Support in processing application documents, such as CVs and cover letters, as well as in preparing for interviews.
  • Coaching and training job seekers in professional skills, such as: B. Communication, time management and conflict resolution.
  • Identification of professional training and qualification opportunities for job seekers and support in the planning and implementation of training measures.
  • Matching job seekers with potential employers and providing support in the job search.
  • Support integration into the workplace, including onboarding and adapting to the work culture and environment.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the progress of job seekers and preparing reports on project progress and goal achievement.
  • Taking on administrative and organizational tasks as part of participant management.

 

your profile

 

  • You have experience in one of the following work areas: pedagogy, social pedagogy, adult education, social work and/or psychology.
  • You have experience in advising and supporting job seekers, especially in the labor market integration of people with a migration background.
  • You have knowledge of the local labor market and the professional requirements in various industries and sectors, as well as knowledge of labor law regulations, legal knowledge of SGB II, application procedures and recruiting methods.
  • You have organizational skills, a willingness to cooperate and the ability to network.
  • You have German language skills of at least C1 and English knowledge of at least B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages .
  • You are characterized by reliability, initiative and enjoyment of working in a team.
  • You are willing to travel on business trips to project locations throughout Germany (approx. 20% of working hours).
