Mission and objectives
UNICEF works in the world’s toughest places to reach the most disadvantaged children and adolescents – and to protect the rights of every child, everywhere. Across more than 190 countries and territories, we do whatever it takes to help children survive, thrive, and fulfill their potential, from early childhood through adolescence.

The world’s largest provider of vaccines, we support child health and nutrition, safe water and sanitation, quality education and skill building, HIV prevention and treatment for mothers and babies, and the protection of children and adolescents from violence and exploitation. To achieve these, UNICEF is working with governments to strengthen their national statistical systems to generate reliable data for use in programming and decision-making.

Context
Administrative data systems are the backbone of effective governance and informed decision-making. They offer valuable insights for improving public services and resource allocation. Administrative data contribution is instrumental in fostering transparency, accountability, and informed resource allocation, ultimately accelerating efforts toward achieving the diverse targets outlined in the SDGs and promoting sustainable development worldwide.

While these systems contribute significantly to development, challenges persist, including timely and ethical data use issues. To address this, UNICEF developed the Administrative Data Maturity Model (ADaMM) to assess and benchmark the maturity of these systems. We seek dedicated online volunteers to contribute to translating the ADaMM Manual from English to French, ensuring broader accessibility and impact. This volunteer opportunity provides a chance to contribute to a significant initiative, fostering accessibility and utilization of the ADaMM model in francophone contexts. Join us in promoting improving administrative data systems for sustainable development.
