ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT OF THE POSITION:
In Haiti, hunger has reached a dangerous level, today there are nearly 4.9 million people in the country in a situation of food insecurity. This is the equivalent of one in two Haitians who go to bed without having eaten all day. Most worrying is the fact that for the first time in the country’s history, there are more than 19,000 people in disaster phase (IPC 5).
Thus, the World Food Program in Haiti has defined its strategy to combat hunger in the Country Strategic Plan (CSP 2024-2028) which provides, among other things, for activities linked to emergency food assistance to populations affected by a shock. , the establishment of social safety nets oriented towards nutrition, the strengthening of the capacities and livelihoods of small producers as well as their resilience in the face of climate change in particular, and the strengthening of the capacities of national and local actors to the fight against hunger
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Perform routine management support tasks in a specialist business area to contribute to effective service delivery.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (indicative and non-exhaustive list):

Under the direct supervision of the Head of the Sub-Office, and the technical supervision of the WFP Country Office Administration unit, you will carry out the following tasks:
- Gather information following clear guidance to assist other staff in drafting documents and preparing reports.
- Answer questions and escalate issues as appropriate to provide timely, reliable service.
- Assist in processing and managing routine administrative and financial tasks across various functional areas to contribute to effective and timely management of resources.
- Provide standard document revision and proofreading services to contribute to the development of precise documents.
- Responsible for the management of certain standard systems and files to ensure that the information is reliable and that the relevant department has easy access to it.
- Identify simple anomalies in statistics and data, such as missing information, and escalate them to help service recipients in their work.
- Take responsibility for data integrity to ensure that information in internal systems is reliable.
- Provide guidance on common management support methods and practices to less experienced colleagues to ensure services are delivered consistently and to required standards.
- Work with people from diverse backgrounds, gathering feedback where appropriate to provide management assistance to staff.
- Carry out, at the request of your supervisor, all other tasks aimed at the smooth running of activities, especially in times of emergency.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Training:
Secondary school diploma (BAC). A Certificate of post-secondary studies in Administration, project management, Finance, social sciences or any other diploma related to the responsibilities to be assumed.
Experience wanted :
At least four (4) years of professional experience at progressively responsible levels in the field considered, combined with experience in administrative work.
Knowledge and skills :
- Experienced in the use of office equipment and software packages such as Microsoft Word.
- Knowledge of common procedures and methods to carry out the required work under minimal supervision.
- Ability to demonstrate tact and courtesy when exchanging information with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to spot anomalies in data and correct issues requiring attention.
- Ability to provide guidance or basic on-the-job training to less experienced staff members.
Languages :
- Mastery (level C) of French and Haitian Creole, and an intermediate level (B1) in English.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS :
This position is a 12-month Fixed-Term Contract with the possibility of renewal.
