Mission and objectives
Istanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development (IICPSD) supports the private sector and foundations to become transformative partners in development through research, advocacy for inclusive business, facilitation of public-private dialogue and brokering partnerships. IICPSD, established in 2011 in partnership with the Government of Turkey, is one of UNDP’s six Global Policy Centres. It leads UNDP’s global work on private sector and foundations and supports UNDP’s offices all over the world. The Center focuses on four thematic areas:

1. Inclusive Business;

2. Private Sector Engagement in Skills Development;

3. Impact investing;

4. Resilience and Crisis Response.

The Center also hosts four global initiatives: Business Call to Action, SDG Philanthropy Platform, Global Islamic Finance and Impact Investing Platform and Connecting Business Initiative.

Context
Frontier Tech Leaders Programme starts the second global Machine Learning Bootcamp cohort in March. Volunteers are expected to support the training coordinator and course guides during the live training sessions by moderating. Also, volunteers are expected to provide support for the tasks related to community members such as tracking student progress, making announcements, communicate with the students etc.

Task description
The volunteer community support is expected to

1. Support the team throughout the training (March-June)

2. Moderate live training sessions (Evening sessions during the weekdays and morning sessions on the weekend. Approximately 3/4 sessions a week and weekdays sessions are usually 1-2 hours and weekend sessions are 3-4 hours.)

3. Support the FTL community by communicating with the members via Discord and other channels.

4. Dedicate sufficient time for the interaction with students

5. Track student progress

Requirements
Required experience
1. Minimum a senior year student, ideally a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or in a relevant field; or Computer Science or in a relevant field.

2. Community experience.

3. Experience in tools such as: Discord, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office and Coursera.

4. Strong communication skills.

5. Strong verbal and written English skills.

6. Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence knowledge is an asset.

Languages
English, Level: Working knowledge, Desirable
