About the Job
Under the direct line management of the Economic Recovery (EcRec) team leader, this role entails the effective and quality implementation of intake sessions as an entry point for the EcRec activities, serving as the primary point of contact for the livelihoods center and being responsible for the first contact with visitors. The Economic Recovery Officer – HBB Trainer is expected to coordinate with employability and self-employment officers to receive market-related information and technical guidance and to share information and opportunities with the livelihoods center visitors on a daily basis.
The role includes conducting a preliminary assessment to understand center visitors’ situation against project criteria and advise on EcRec service selection.
Geographic scope: Country (Turkey)
This role has a country focus and ensures compliance to DRC procedures and guidelines within the country. The role contributes to the development of country strategies, which are translated into action plans and day-to-day tasks. The role provides support and/or technical guidance to country operations while overseeing country activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
General Programming & Operations & Interaction with stakeholders
- Conduct Home Based Business Training modules to beneficiaries.
- Conduct quality follow-up sessions with EcRec activities participants and ensure feedback is reported to component officers and team leader.
- Refer cases to relevant economic recovery and protection departments based on needs identified during intake sessions, if required.
- Maintain the documentation of required tools and forms archived and uploaded online
- Work closely with EcRec officers (Self Employment-HBB) to remain up to date on the economic recovery team activities
- Provide constant feedback on the outreach activities of EcRec team and advise on enhancing outreach to host and refugee communities in the geographic area
- Conduct communication with project participants to facilitate successful participation in EcRec activities.
- Engage in outreach activities related to the project (with community members, local NGOs, and private sector contacts)
- Contribute to the organization of regular program monitoring of program activities through site monitoring visits and FGDs, assure proper utilization and documentation of program monitoring tools, and prepare reports on the findings with action plans.
- Support data collection of any assessment/research that may arise during the duration of the program.
- Other activities required for the implementation of EcRec assigned by the line manager.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Ensure monitoring surveys for HBB are tracked.
Technical Support
- Contribute to the project review meeting based on field observations and the technical review of intake tools used for the implementation of the project.
- Assist economic recovery officers to ensure project participants are linked with livelihood opportunitites based on market trends and in line with DRC’s decent work framework.
Coordination
- Under the supervision of the Team Leader and Manager, proactively seek, assess, and report new opportunities in regard to activities under the responsibility
- Promote and ensure an active engagement and nertworking with relevant national authorities and other stakeholders to contribute to the effective implementation of DRC programs.
About you
To be successful in this role, you must have a University degree in business administration, economics, marketing, trade, social science, and related fields.
Moreover, we also expect the following:
Required qualifications
- University degree in business administration, economics, marketing, trade, social science, and related fields.
- At least 2 years of relevant professional experience within the humanitarian sector working for an I/NGO.
- Experience in providing entrepreneurship trainings, female entrepreneurship is a strong asset.
- Excellent IT skills
- Experience in career counseling, business management and private sector are highly preferred
- Experience with following standard procedures and guidelines
- Experience in conducting surveys and assessments with a focus on livelihood scope
- Experience working in the field (preferably experience from southern Türkiye)
- Fluency in Turkish and Arabic (Writing,Reading,Speaking and Listening). English is a strong asset.
