Job Description
The Finance and Administration Intern will assist the Finance Manager with day-to-day tasks including check requests, data entry, reconciliations and more. The intern will ensure completeness of required documentation, adherence to individual grant requirements, enter information into relevant database systems and assist with other administrative tasks. The intern will also assist with basic HR functions. This internship may be of particular interest to someone studying accounting, business administration, nonprofit management or other related disciplines.
Time Commitment: 10 -15 hours per week during IRC office hours (M-F, 9AM – 5PM) (3 month minimum; 6+ months preferred). Regular schedule required.
Location: IRC in Denver office 1873 S. Bellaire St, Suite 500, Denver, CO 80222
Duties:
File and retrieve organizational documents, records and reports
Prepare tracking sheets/books for contributions-in-kind for different programs • Help maintain accurate, clear and accessible accounting records
Help with preparing bank and Accounts Payable reconciliations.
Perform general clerical duties to include, but not limited to, bookkeeping, copying, faxing, mailing and filing
Work with the Finance Manager on other accounting, HR and administration duties as assigned
Learning Objectives:
The Finance and Administration intern will learn how to apply financial information to strategy formulation and future decision-making, forecasting, budgeting, communication and dissemination of financial information to relevant stakeholders and other related occupational tasks. Students should focus on acquiring experience relevant to their level of knowledge that prepares them for entry-level finance job opportunities.

Qualifications
Required Skills:

Familiarity with basic accounting procedures
Excellent attention to detail
Excellent problem solving skills
Ability to work independently
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn new software applications
Ability to handle sensitive client information confidentially
Ability to communicate effectively in English
