Mission and objectives

UNDP’s Global Programme on Nature for Development brings together three different initiatives under one program – the Equator Initiative, the National Biodiversity Initiative, and the Global Forest Initiative – in order to identify, foster, showcase and celebrate nature-based solutions that help achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at local, national and international levels. The work of the Global Programme on Nature for Development contributes to UNDP’s Strategic Plan 2014-2017 by charting sustainable development pathways through the conservation, restoration and sustainable management of biodiversity and ecosystems; and by promoting inclusive and effective democratic governance in the area of natural resources.

Context
The National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plan (NBSAP) Accelerator Partnership (AP) is a country-led global initiative to support accelerated NBSAP implementation and strengthen countries’ ambition and action to halt and reverse biodiversity loss and put nature on a path to recovery for the benefit of people and the planet by 2030. The results of the volunteering opportunity will be published online through multiple online.

Task description
UNDP is looking for four online volunteers to support the productions of communications materials and generate content for the NBSAP Accelerator Partnership. The successful candidates will provide direct support for the generation of assets which will be published on multiple channels: Facebook, twitter (x), linekdin and the NSBAP Accelerator website, including the writing of posts, researching and framing of existing research, and design.

The online volunteers will be provided with guidance, structure, and information about the NBSAP Accelerator including existing research papers to support them in generating content.

Requirements
Required experience
The application is open for all nationalities. The successful candidates will have a strong background or strong experience in writing, communications, social media management and/or content production and management.
