Mission and objectives
For this campaign, SimukaAfrica.org seeks enthusiastic and creative professionals who can share their skills and knowledge towards global mental health awareness. Whether you are an artist (any field), mental health professional, educator or youth mental health advocate, your contributions are crucial to ensuring that our program achieves the target objective of involving Zimbabwe youth directly in SDG3 awareness.

Context
Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG3) covers good health and well-being goals. This overall purpose is to ensure healthy living for the global population, encourage preventative care and promote well-being at all ages. SDG 3 goals address all major health priorities, including mental, reproductive, maternal and child health; communicable, non-communicable and environmental disease; universal health coverage; and access for all to safe, effective, quality and affordable medicines and vaccines.

This assignment will amplify SimukaAfrica.org and our SDG 3.4 Creative Arts Project Open Call in collaboration with HUG Art Gallery. The Simuka 3.4 Gallery on our website will feature selected artists throughout 2024. We seek to prioritize mental health awareness by encouraging creativity among the young people in Zimbabwe and international populations. Our campaign encourages them to participate in an open call with art and creative contributions. Selected works will be featured in an online campaign across Simuka’s social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube).

Task description
The task involves creating and developing a comprehensive online creative arts campaign that utilizes a variety of artistic mediums to engage and educate the target audience. The campaign goal is to raise awareness of mental health issues by consolidating and generating publicity for artwork from our Open Call participants. Calls to Action will include educating the public on self-care, art therapy, and the benefits of art for child development alongside support to expand the program’s reach. Online Volunteers are also encouraged to submit art based on a mental health topic for publicity.

The artwork will be shared on the SimukaAfrica.org website and social media platforms. (Twitter-X, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube) Short video presentations of featured art will also be created for the SimukaAfrica.org YouTube channel.

Requirements
Required experience
1) Communication skills such as effective administrative protocol, social media management and public relations experience.
2) The task requires volunteers with experience in social media campaigns. Graphic design with Canva, Adobe and similar programs is also required.
3) 1 – 2 candidates with videography experience are needed specifically for YouTube is a plus.
4) Basic technical skills needed to be an Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) volunteer include proficiency in programming languages like Python, understanding of machine learning concepts and algorithms, data handling and analysis abilities, and knowledge of AI frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch. In addition, having curiosity to learn new things and explore new arenas would be an added benefit.
5) Candidates with a degree and/or background in Psychology, Social Work, Social Science and Education are encouraged to apply.
6) Candidates with professional experience working with youth-led initiatives, mental health programs, art programs, awareness campaigns or outreach for the same are encouraged to apply.
7) Candidates with creative experience and/or portfolios in any field of the Arts are encouraged to apply.
