PURPOSE OF ASSIGNMENT
Within the framework of the PFP Impact plan, the overall purpose of this assignment is to provide, on a need’s basis, professional graphic design and data visualization services to facilitate data analysis and reporting on the one hand and to increase uptake of products created by the unit on the other hand. The content will be provided by the emergency fundraising unit.
OBJECTIVE
The overall objective is to set up a Long-Term Agreement to facilitate and expedite the process by which the
Humanitarian Funding Unit, PFP will hire a Graphic Designer to design assets to support humanitarian fundraising.
MAJOR TASKS TO BE ACCOMPLISHED
Implement UNICEF’s branding policy: Ensure that all publications, reports and products are produced in line with UNICEF graphic guidelines.
• Design fact sheets, donor proposals, concept notes, guidelines, briefs, and/or presentations.
• Design infographics, and data visualizations, for print and/or digital platforms.
• Design donor reports e.g., 1-month mark, 100-day mark and 1-year mark reports.
• Design electronic newsletters
• Design user-friendly and intuitive pages for the Emergency Hub and the PFP Private Sector Intranet on SharePoint modern.
• Edit videos and podcasts
• Create animated videos
• Create visuals for video (intro, outro, graphs, maps, broll, text)
• Create logos
• Design PowerBI Dashboards
Responsibilities of the Consultant:
• The consultant will use their own equipment; laptops, microphones, software and other accessories that may be required for this task.
• The consultant will not give the content/material or any part thereof, to any third party without the written permission of UNICEF. All components will be a property of UNICEF, and the consultant will not share the same with anyone else.
• The consultant will not put their own name or logo/emblem on the content / final product. The only organization branding will be UNICEF, if required.
• regular liaison with manager and content owners and any related units.
Responsibilities of UNICEF:
• UNICEF will provide all details pertaining to the activity and the requirements
• UNICEF will orient the consultant on UNICEF’s branding guidelines
• UNICEF will share the documents and specifications with the consultant as he/she becomes available and will coordinate the timely delivery of work
DELIVERABLES
  • Design fact sheets, donor proposals, concept notes, guidelines and briefs
  • Design PowerPoint presentations

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Education:
• A university degree (bachelor’s degree or higher) in graphic design or other related fields is required.
Experience:
• At least two years of professional graphic design and data visualization experience.
• Familiarity with UNICEF’s branding and style guidelines is desirable.
• Experience designing products for UNICEF or other UN agencies is desirable.
• Experience in building a PowerBI Dashboard is an asset.
Language:
• Fluency in English is required.
Others:
• Excellent creative skills in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign software.
• Ability to deliver products on time and within budget.
• Ability to deliver high quality products under tight deadlines.
• Experience working remotely, very responsive over email and Microsoft Teams

Remarks:

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
