In Brazil, UNOPS has been working alongside other UN agencies, international financial organizations and federal, state and municipal governments since 2012. Since then, UNOPS has worked on infrastructure (e.g. building schools and hospitals); socioeconomic recovery projects; acquisition and logistical support for Brazilian humanitarian cooperation; urbanization of settlements; and modernization of the juvenile justice system, with the construction of socio-educational centers and modeling of public-private partnership projects.
UNOPS Brazil is an integral part of the Multicountry Office led by Argentina (which brings together Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay) and the regional management structure for Latin America and the Caribbean.
UNOPS supports its partners in their international cooperation activities through actions to respond to humanitarian emergencies, which involve, among other activities, the acquisition of goods and the contracting of freight services, such as food, equipment, vaccines and medicines, to assist countries in crisis or in vulnerable situations.

In Brazil, UNOPS has been working together with other UN agencies, international financial organizations and federal, state and municipal governments since 2012. Since then, the Office has been working on infrastructure (with, for example, the construction of schools and hospitals); socioeconomic recovery projects; procurement and logistical support for Brazilian humanitarian cooperation; settlement urbanization; and modernization of the juvenile justice system, with the construction of socio-educational centers and the modeling of public-private collaboration projects.

Standards development
- Collaborate in the development/redefinition of processes, procedures, configurations, tools, checklists and templates necessary for managing projects, programs or portfolios.
- Support the implementation of organizational project management standards, among others, for risk management, stakeholder management, quality management, change management, document management, knowledge management, program and project reporting and assurance, etc.
- Review standard operating procedures, standards, and other portfolio-level technical documents and provide support to update and improve them.
- Contribute to the development of partners’ knowledge management system by capturing case studies and best practice examples.
- Make recommendations on policies and tools and contribute to the development of guidance material and tools that advance the strategic project management objectives of partner organizations.
Capacity development
- Train and develop skills in Project, Program or Portfolio Management, with the aim of transferring knowledge, providing skills and increasing the capacity of people involved in Project Management processes.
- Assist in the design and delivery of bespoke training courses and enablement programs, with a variety of delivery methodologies (in-person, online, blended).
- Provide support on how to integrate project management best practices, programs and portfolios and how to strengthen the knowledge, skills and professional development of project management professionals.
- Train and support partner project management team members in fulfilling their project support functions.
Quality Control and Assurance
- Support the Project Manager in developing quarterly execution plans to define the scope, schedule, responsibilities and resources required to implement the activities outlined in the project plan(s).
- Support the Project Manager in developing quarterly reports for partners in order to provide information on the progress and success of UNOPS consultancy and implementation services.
Portfolio development
- Support the BRPC Board in identifying and contacting potential partners to promote projects: identifying opportunities in the public sector, preparing proposals and work plans and participating in business development visits with potential counterparties.
- Support other Hub offices in identifying opportunities and promoting projects.
BRPC project management
- Perform project management consultancy or project management support roles for projects in the BRPC portfolio.
- Manage the implementation of specific results, designated by a project manager within the scope of BRPC projects.
Team management
- Facilitate the engagement and delivery of high quality and supervised staff services through effective work planning, performance management, coaching and encouraging learning and development.
- Supervise your team, ensuring compliance with existing policies and best practices.

- Provide support on how to integrate project, program and portfolio management best practices, and how to strengthen the knowledge, skills and professional development of project management professionals.
- Train and support members of counterpart Project Management teams in fulfilling their project support functions.
Quality Control and Guarantee
- Support the Project Manager in the development of quarterly execution plans to define the scope, schedule, responsibilities and resources necessary to implement the activities contemplated in the project plan(s).
- Support the Project Manager in developing quarterly reports for partners, providing information on the progress and success of UNOPS advisory and implementation services.
Portfolio development
- Support BRPC Management in identifying and contacting potential
- partners for project promotion: identification of opportunities in the public sector, writing proposals and work plans and participation in business development visits with potential counterparts.
- Support other Hub offices in identifying opportunities and promoting projects.
BRPC Project Management
- Perform advisory roles in project management or support the management of projects in the BRPC portfolio.
- Manage the implementation of specific products, assigned by a Project Manager within the framework of BRPC projects.
Team management
- Facilitate the commitment and delivery of high-quality services and services of the supervised team through effective work planning, performance management, coaching and encouraging learning and development.
- Supervise your team ensuring compliance with existing policies and best practices.
The. Training
- A bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in project management, business administration, international relations or other relevant/related degree;
- A master’s/postgraduate degree in project management, business administration, logistics, foreign trade or a related field will be considered an advantage.
B. Professional experience
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in Project Management is required;
- Experience in project management in the logistics and foreign trade sector is highly desirable;
- Experience in procurement processes is highly desirable;
- Experience at the UN is considered an advantage.

- PRINCE2® Foundation and/or Practitioner, MSP® and MoP® are highly desirable;

- It is necessary to be fluent in Portuguese.
