This role involves supporting the team leader and employability officer for the quality implementation of economic recovery intake, facilitation of long-term job creation through wage subsidies (WS), In-the-workplace training, job placement, and market linkage activities, and other project activities within the scope of the economic recovery program with a focus on employability in close coordination with partner staff with close day-to-day technical guidance.
It entails close engagement with implementing partner, local stakeholders and private sector entities.
Geographic scope: Kilis
This role has a country focus and ensures compliance to DRC procedures and guidelines within the country. The role contributes to the development of country strategies, which are translated into action plans and day-to-day tasks. The role provides support and/or technical guidance to country operations while overseeing country activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
General Programming & Operations & Interaction with partner (80%)
- Assist Employability officer in business mapping to identify eligible private sector entities to be collaborated in wage subsidy program.
- In line with market information/data collected and analyzed, support the economic recovery team to implement wage subsidy activity.
- Engage in outreach activities related to the project (with community members, local NGOs, and private sector contacts) and assist in maintaining an updated business database
- Assist the Employability Officer in beneficiary identification, selection, and placement on relevant activities, as well as in attendance monitoring and initiation of timely replacements.
- Contribute to organization of regular program monitoring for in-the-workplace training and wage subsidy activities through site monitoring visits and FGDs, and asssure proper utilization and documentation of program monitoring tools and prepare reports on the findings with action plans.
- Support Employability Officer in collection of necessary MoVs and supportive documents from parties collaborated in wage subsidy and In-the-workplace training schemes and in maintenance of a well-organized documentation of program activities.
- Keep an active private sector engagement to identify collaboration opportunities for for faciliation of job creation, and job placement with work permit support.
- In coordination with the Employability Officer, coordinate with partner to inform them about labor market needs, job prospects and vacancies.
- Support data collection of any assessment/research that may arise during the duration of the program.
Monitoring and Evaluation (10%)
- Review MEAL reports produced for the activities under responsibility; contribute to development of actions plans and suggestion of appropriate corrective actions.
- Execute approved corrective actions under the supervision of Team Leader and Employability Officer.
- Facilitate the communication between MEAL team and beneficiaries to assure timely implementation of MEAL plans and market mapping related activities.
Technical Support (5%)
- Extend technical support to partner counselling assistants when needed.
- Assist employability officer to assure both implementing partner and other parties collaborated in in-the-workplace training and WS schemes produce quality reports and share necessary documents with DRC as per pre-determined terms and extend guidance to make sure compliance.
Coordination (5%)
- Under the supervision of Economic Recovery Team Leader and Manager, proactively seek, assess, and report new opportunities in regards to activities under responsibility
- Promote and ensure an active private sector engagement and nertworking with relevant national authorities to contribute to effective implementation of DRC programs
About you
To be successful in this role, you must have a university degree in business administration, economics, marketing, trade, social science and related fields.
Moreover, we also expect the following:
Required qualifications
- University degree in business administration, economics, marketing, trade, social science and
- related fields.
- At least 1 year of relevant professional experience within economic recovery/livelihood sector working for a NGO.
- Experience in market research and analysis
- Experience in business administration and business development.
- Excellent IT skills
- Experience with following standard procedures and guidelines
- Experience working in the field (preferably experience from southern Turkey)
- Fluency in Turkish and Arabic. English is a strong asset
