Scope of Work:
The consultant is expected to facilitate CoAg, oversee the funding and activities as per donor requirements, including requests for project updates and reports. To achieve this, the consultant is expected to closely work with the WASH in Emergency and Fragile Contexts team, the principal investigator (PI for the CoAg, currently the associate director of Health section), Public Partnership Division (PPD), other relevant units within UNICEF, project managers/chiefs at a country level and CDC.
Terms of Reference / Key Deliverables:
- Four project updates (1-2 pages each) for all projects including issues, identified solutions, challenges are prepared and submitted to the supervisor
By 18 December 2024
- Two quarterly project and financial updates are submitted to CDC as per donor’s requests and instructions
By 18 December 2024
- Coordinate at least two site visits by setting up meetings and presenting project updates when requested by CDC (usually occurs quarterly) and provide a summary report for each visit
By 18 December 2024
- 12 WASH technical calls with the CDC conducted with detailed action points developed and followed up

- Annual report for Year one is prepared and submitted to the PPD and CDC
By 31 May 2024
- Timely submission of a complete package of carryover request which includes a cover letter, project and budget narratives and a budget summary for carryover projects and other official requests, when necessary, by finalizing documents
By 31 May 2024
- A complete package of UNICEF proposal for Year two is developed and submitted by a deadline (the exact submission date will be announced by CDC upon availability of funds)

Qualifications
Education:
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Civil Engineering, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), and related fields
Work experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in humanitarian WASH is required
- Experience in WASH response to Public health emergencies is preferred
- Experience working in multi-cultural background is preferred
Competencies/Knowledge:
- Knowledge of WASH roles in Public health emergencies is required
- Excellent project coordination skill is required
- Experience/knowledge in CDC funding management is strongly preferred
- Experience in Knowledge management is a plus
- Fluency in English is required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
