PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT

We are recruiting a highly motivated intern to support EOF’s Learning & Engagement – Early Childhood Education (ECE) team EOF developed a joint vision with the LEGO Foundation for how outcomes-based finance (OBF) can support ECCE outcomes. As part of this joint vision, we have launched an ambitious initiative that will undertake a portfolio of OBF programs in ECCE to showcase the potential (and limitations) of OBF in different settings while leveraging our program portfolio to contribute towards an increasingly vibrant ecosystem for OBF in ECCE.

DESCRIPTION OF ASSIGNMENT

At EOF, the Learning and Engagement team coordinates the efforts for EOF’s active engagement in the global ecosystem for OBF in ECCE, and aims to contribute to this ecosystem’s vibrancy through activities in knowledge creation, capacity strengthening, and community building. The Learning and Engagement intern will support EOF’s Learning and Engagement team with various aspects of these activities.

The Learning and Engagement intern will report directly to the Head of Learning and Engagement, supporting the team in its collaborations with key stakeholders in the ECCE and innovative finance networks. You will also collaborate with other members of the EOF team.

A more detailed list of activities is included below:

Knowledge Creation

Support the drafting of technical briefs, papers and presentations through desk reviews, drafting, editing, as well as the dissemination of these knowledge products.

Community Building

Support the Learning and Engagement team to build and manage relationships with peer organizations and potential partners through, for example, participating in calls and webinars and documenting key takeaways.

Capacity Strengthening

Support the Learning and Engagement team’s capacity strengthening offerings through documenting key takeaways and action items in potential partner meetings.

Logistics support for preparation of learning materials – this may include scheduling interviews and workshops, service provider research and execution of learning sessions.

Overall strengthening the Learning and Engagement team’s internal organisation and knowledge management through documenting key takeaways and action items in meetings, maintaining project management platform and contributing to research library.

EOF is headquartered in London, UK, and candidates may need to be available during a significant portion of UK working hours (to be determined on a case-by-case basis). Remote and hybrid working options will be considered. Please note that EOF cannot currently sponsor interns to work in the UK.

Essencial

  • Be enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or Ph.D. degree programme or have graduated within the past two years.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Be proficient in English.
  • Have excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records.
  • Have no immediate relatives (e.g. father, mother, brother, sister) working in any UNICEF office; and have no other relatives in the line of authority that the intern will report to.​​​​​​​
  • Additional consideration will be given for any past experience.

Desirable

  • A degree in a relevant subject, such as education, economics, development studies, political science, public policy, finance, or a related field, would be preferred.
  • Experience or an interest in international development, the global education sector, and international aid is desirable. Additional consideration will be given for any relevant experience.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-energy, fast-paced and entrepreneurial organization.
  • Ability to manage a high workload in a fast-paced environment, with strong attention to detail and a high bar for quality; manage concurrent timelines, independently prioritize tasks and work.
  • Proficiency in French, Spanish or Arabic is desirable.
