Duties and Responsibilities
Driver/Clerk will be responsible for the following tasks:
  • Timely and safe driving of UNDP/UN employees, consultants, guests and visitors, at the authorization from the UNDP CO, Programme Management and UNDSS;
  • Performing tasks related to the daily maintenance of the vehicle;
  • Maintaining daily vehicle logs (mileage, fuel consumption, travel routs, signature of passengers) and submitting logs to direct supervisor on a timely basis;
  • Ensuring that repair and maintenance services are performed on timely basis and at the authorization from the direct supervisor;
  • Ensuring that all instructions regulating safe driving behaviour and Rules of the Road are in hand and strictly followed;
  • Ensuring that the vehicle has valid insurance and first aid kit,
  • Ensuring that the vehicle has PPEs (personal protection equipment) in a quantity sufficient for all the passengers and driver, trauma bag and satellite phone during the trips to the areas along the contract line and to the grey zone;
  • Driving the UNDP vehicle for delivery and collection of mails, documents, pouches, equipment and other administrative tasks upon the request of direct supervisor;
  • Assist in the organization of logistical preparation of field trips, visiting missions, etc.
  • Assist in reviewing records related to in-country missions and field trips;
  • Assist in preparation of Field Trip Reports to grant security clearance from Security Unit;
  • Assist in vehicles history records preparation, collecting all vehicle related documentation (scan copies invoices, receipt, acts, insurance certificates, etc.);
  • Loading/unloading of light cargos delivered by the vehicle;
  • Providing clerical support to operational and programme activities;
  • Assist in general maintenance of the office premises;
  • Performing other duties as required.

 Institutional Arrangement

Under the overall supervision of Project Manager and direct supervision of Operations Analyst in Kyiv, Driver/Clerk will be responsible for maintaining and driving office armoured/soft-skin vehicles.

  • Ability to manage communications internally and externally, through media, social media, and other appropriate channels.
Required Skills and Experience
Education:
  • Secondary Education is required. Bachelor’s degree will be considered as an advantage but not a requirement;
  • Valid Ukrainian driving license categories B and C/C1 (valid for driving both soft-skin and armored vehicles up to 5,500 kg).
Experience:
  • Minimum 4 years of professional driving experience.

Required Skills: 

  • Knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repair;
  • Knowledge of protocol and customs issues;
  • Safe driving record;
  • Ability to drive in difficult /extreme situations.

Desired skills in addition to the competencies covered in the Competencies section:

  • Experience of driving of armoured vehicles will be considered a strong asset;
  • Previous experience of clerical office support will be considered an asset;
  • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel) will be considered an asset;
  • Experience of working with international organizations/projects will be considered an asset.

Required Language(s) :

  • Fluency in Ukrainian is required;
  • Working level of English will be considered an asset.
