Main Responsibilities
Drive
- Drive the vehicle assigned to transport NRC Staff, visitors, documents and materials to destinations designated by the supervisor or fleet manager.
- Accompany NRC missions in cities where NRC projects are implemented.
Equipment and vehicle maintenance Assigned
- Support the registration of vehicle maintenance according to the guidelines of the logistics formats and the Fleet administrator.
- Maintain permanent operation and report failures in the ICT equipment in your charge or on loan, that is: Satellite Telephones, VHF, GPS or any other in the fulfillment of its mission.
- Ensure the management of vehicle documentation. Alert the Logistics coordination in Honduras of the expiration of Policies or other documents or periodic reviews by carrying out the PR for each purchase.
- Be responsible for the vehicle that will be assigned to you within the transfer of assets under your charge. Evidence, using the Logistics Manual formats, deliveries, reviews, failures, etc., and keep a record of fuel loads and maintenance.
- Maintain up-to-date vehicle inventory and designated communication tools and equipment
- Responsible for the loading and unloading of the materials transported, in order to avoid any damage or deterioration of the materials, as well as the vehicles.
- Security
- Maintain fluid communication with the security area of your trips according to HSS requirements.
- Act in accordance with the NRC’s logistics and safety guidelines regarding the handling of situations such as accidents, breakdowns or safety incidents.
- Keep your training updated in the NRC Security Standards and in those required to carry out your work, in the same way, meet the security requirements of the Staff designated by the NRC as appropriate.
- Coordinate and carry out logistical activities in the organization of missions and make security reports during trips.
- Conduct audits of NRC vehicles and communications equipment, when and where required.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Keep the trip record book (logbook) and fuel of the assigned vehicle and send the report with the respective supports to the Fleet Administrator no later than the 30th of each month.
- Issue reports on the vehicle fleet.
- Preparation of advance payment requests for Per diem in mobilizations outside the work area.
- Carry out document messaging and paperwork when required in your office.
- Carry out procedures with banking entities and suppliers (consignments, payment of services, etc.).
Others
- Other tasks assigned by the supervisor in compliance with the objectives of the position.
3. Professional Competencies
- Valid Driving License (Essential)
- Work experience as a driver in humanitarian aid contexts. (Indispensable)
- Previous experience working in complex and changing contexts
- Have some experience in carrying out logistical and administrative procedures (Desirable but not exclusive).
- Verifiable experience related to the responsibilities of the position (Essential).
- Some knowledge of the English language (Desirable but not exclusive).
Specific skills, knowledge and experience of the context:
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in a similar responsibility.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics or maintenance. (Desirable but not exclusive)
- Knowledge of the context in the geographical area. (Indispensable)
- Ability to drive all-terrain vehicles (4×4) in mountainous regions. (Indispensable)
- Knowledge of using MS Office office utilities (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook). (desirable but not exclusive)
- Proven knowledge of current traffic and transportation rules and regulations. (Indispensable)
- Ability to learn about safety standards and protocols.
