PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT
Under the direct supervision of the SWA Programme Specialist, the consultant will provide direct support for partner engagement to develop efficient plans and processes for the engagement of strategic partners, with a particular focus on Heads of State Engagement, High-Level Meetings as well as mobilisation in underrepresented constituencies.
EXPECTED RESULTS
The Consultant is expected to deliver the following results:
- Develop engagement plans for two SWA High Level Meetings, namely the Finance Ministers’ Meetings for Latin America and the Caribbean and for Asia-Pacific, and the follow up process to the Finance Ministers’ Meeting for Africa
- Develop a long list of 22 potential new partners to join different constituencies as specified, develop an outreach plan, correspondence and meetings to solicit their interest to join the SWA partnership, and the integration of new partners into the partnership
- Develop concepts and implementation plans for four online exchanges, four constituency virtual meetings and three trainings
- Develop an engagement plan to ensure the active participation of strategic partners from non-government constituencies, except CSOs, in SWA’s priority countries.

Develop 1 plan to mobilise partners from the above constituencies to contribute to and participate in the preparatory processes and at least 4 webinars for the Finance Ministers’ Meetings for Latin America and the Caribbean and Asia and Pacific respectively, and the follow-up to the Finance Ministers’ Meeting for Africa, and ensure resourceful contributions to the Finance Ministers Meeting for Latin America through presence at the meeting by preparing at least 3 briefings and facilitating discussions so constituencies develop common positions to bring into the meetings. |

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
- An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in environmental sciences, foreign relations or equivalent.
- A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in high-level multilateral and multi-stakeholder platforms and partnerships, incl. international agencies, governmental authorities, private sector or NGOs
- Experience in WASH is not a prerequisite, but a strong asset
- Experience working with national government(s) and their strategic partners in areas related to good governance and policy analysis is strongly desirable
- Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
- Excellent drafting and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently but in collaboration with a variety of stakeholders
- Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered an asset.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, or Russian).
