PURPOSE

The ECW Secretariat is scaling up its operations and concurrently needs to strengthen its overall communication, public advocacy and fundraising efforts. In alignment with ECW’s 2023-2026 strategic plan, The Multimedia and Content Production Consultant will play a pivotal role in creating impactful video content, with a particular focus on TikTok, to raise awareness, engage stakeholders, and advocate for the right to education in emergency settings. Given the diverse linguistic landscape of the countries under ECW’s coverage, proficiency in Arabic is a key requirement, ensuring effective communication and engagement with our target audiences. As part of our global team, this consultancy will contribute to shaping the narrative around education in emergencies, fostering support for ECW’s initiatives, and ultimately making a lasting impact on the lives of those most affected by crises.

OBJECTIVES

Under the guidance and supervision of the Digital Media Officer, the consultant will assist the ECW Secretariat in:

  • Produce Bespoke Video Assets: Deliver a set of high-quality creative video assets each month, highlighting success stories, challenges, and impact of ECW’s education interventions in crisis-affected regions.
  • Content Analytics and Reporting: Regularly analyze the performance of video content across platforms, providing detailed reports on reach, engagement, and impact. Use insights to refine content strategy for continuous improvement.
  • Cross-Platform Adaptation: Ensure effective adaptation of video content for various platforms, maximizing reach and impact on platforms beyond TikTok, such as YouTube, Instagram, and others.
  • Arabic Content Creation: Produce 20 videos of original video and graphic pieces in Arabic per quarter, ensuring that the content is culturally sensitive, linguistically appropriate, and resonates with the target audience.
  • Translation of Contents between English and Arabic: Translate a monthly selection of ECW social media posts and campaign’s digital contents from English to Arabic and vice versa – achieving and maintaining a high level of accuracy in the translation, as evidenced by low error rates in translated scripts, posts, captions, etc.
  • Arabic Media Outreach: Manage and grow the ECW Arabic media contact list. Support the distribution of ECW press releases and other targeted contents to Arabic media.
  • Execute TikTok Content Calendar: Create and implement a comprehensive TikTok content calendar aligned with ECW’s strategic goals, relevant UN International days and other global advocacy moments, ensuring a consistent schedule of engaging and informative video content.
  • Stakeholder Engagement Videos: Collaborate with ECW partners, grantees, and beneficiaries to produce compelling video content showcasing collaboration, testimonials, and the impact of collective efforts in advancing education in emergency settings.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain quality standards for all multimedia content, ensuring consistency with ECW’s branding and key messages, maintaining a high quality standard.
  • YouTube Channel Growth: Develop and implement an action plan to increase ECW’s YouTube channel subscribers and viewership over the duration of the contract, reflecting the success of engaging and relevant video content.
  • Monthly Video Uploads: Maintain a consistent schedule of uploading a set number of high-quality videos on ECW’s YouTube channel, covering various aspects of the organization’s work, with a focus on education in emergencies and amplify new content across ECW’s social media.
  • Contact Lists Management and Distribution: Support regular updates to ECW content distribution lists and listserv and MailChimp.
  • Event Coverage: Record and produce video content capturing key moments and interventions by ECW staff during global events and conferences outside ECW communication team working hours. Ensure timely editing and publication of these videos on relevant platforms, contributing to increased visibility/recognition of ECW’s presence and impact on the global education agenda.
