Scope of Work:
The consultant is expected to perform the following tasks for the Climate, Environment, Energy and Disaster Risk Reduction (CEED) team.
- Design Knowledge Products
- Design a 15-page report on Innovation and CEED, including the development of infographics and promotional materials in support of the launch, using InDesign.
- Create a CEED-only version of UNICEF’s Goal Area 4 annual report; modifying the InDesign files of the final GA4 report.
- Design COP knowledge materials, including a postcard promoting our CEED knowledge products and an NDC report (approx. 6 pages) for the event, using InDesign.
- Design 4 programme briefs (2-4 pages) on: – How to navigate the SCAP – CEED & disability – CEED & urban planning – The integration of environment and biodiversity
- Design a Sustainable Energy package of materials that includes: – A PPTx – Reference guide – 3 investment cases – Banner/infographics for 2 platforms on tracking initiatives and for young people – A sustainable energy external report (approx. 25 pages).
- Design Communication Materials
- Design social media cards and infographics for the Regional DRR platforms (for March 2024 and others TBD for 2024), Earth Day (April 2024), World Environment Day (June 2024), International Day of Disaster Risk Reduction (Oct 2024) and COP29 (Nov/Dec 2024), using InDesign.
- Develop 16 sets of communication materials (flyers, social media cards, infographics or design support for PPTx presentations as needed) for 16 webinars across the CEED sections, using InDesign.
- Develop social media cards and infographics to support the Sustainability and Climate Change Action Plan (SCAP) internal and external communication plan, using InDesign.
- Design Materials for CEED initiatives
- Provide the design for three case studies (approx. 6 pages each) on the Today & Tomorrow initiative, using InDesign.
- Support the design needs of the the Child Climate Risk Index-Disaster Risk Model (CCRI-DRM) subnational risk assessment initiative, including: – Updates to the subnational guidance document and CCRI-DRM overview (Word documents) – Design 2, 3-page learning briefs (Word-based design) – 10-page data and evidence report (with InDesign)

Qualifications
Education:
Completion of Bachelor’s degree in Design, climate change, disaster risk reduction, international development, knowledge management, communication, or other related discipline.
Work experience:
- A minimum 10 years of professional work experience with a focus on graphic design in areas such as Climate, Environment, Energy, and Disaster Reduction is required
- Familiarity with the UNICEF brand book and style guide is highly desirable
- Proven track record of design products
Competencies/Knowledge:
- Creative mindset and interest in translating technical documents into engaging graphically designed documents
- Proficient in English
- Strong ability to multi-task, flexibility and a drive for on-time delivery required
