Purpose of the position :
Under the direct supervision of the Bunia Operations Manager, the Senior ICT Associate will be responsible for providing ICT support to users in the office ensuring that effective solutions are provided for all incidents and all questions regarding ICT operations and services. He will be responsible for supporting users and maintaining relevant documentation on issues, processes and procedures with the Global Help Desk.
Your responsibilities:
- Provide, based on an assessment made by the ICT Manager (Kinshasa) of the status and needs in this area, technical support and assistance for the administration of a safe and secure ICT infrastructure;
- Ensure the administration of the office’s multi-user computer network as well as data and telecommunications facilities;
- Establish and maintain local network and procedures in the sub-office;
- Install new versions of systems and resolve ad-hoc user problems;
- Express the need for computer hardware, telecommunications equipment and software in line with their life cycle and according to the procedures in force;
- Maintain the inventory of computer and telecom equipment in the sub-office;
- Ensure the security of data on users’ servers, PCs and laptops. This involves the regular backup and secure storage of data, the implementation of emergency response measures as well as the provision of power to ICT systems, in accordance with established international standards;
- Provide ad hoc support to users for both hardware and software issues, and facilitate the identification of training needs for users;
- Develop specific applications and innovative tools to support program and operational effectiveness
- Carry out other ICT tasks that may be requested by the Operations Manager, the Head of Office or ICT Manager (Kinshasa);
- Advise the Operations Manager on MOSS standards related to Telecoms.
- To qualify as a champion for every child, you must:
- Hold a license delivered by a recognized university establishment in the field of Computer Science and Telecommunications or any other similar discipline with three years or a master’s degree delivered by a recognized university establishment with two additional years (in addition to the three years mentioned above, for a total of five years).
- Having worked in an international organization would be an asset;
- Be able to maintain working relationships in a team spirit;
- Have the ability to work in an international and multicultural environment;
- Have the ability to express ideas and concepts orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner;
- Have excellent knowledge of French and a good base in English;
- Have mastery of basic management software.
