Major Responsibilities:
Leadership:
- Directly responsible for the programming and outcomes of the Tallahassee office in alignment with the IRC’s Strategic goals, with Florida Strategic Goals and with Georgia/Florida Leadership.
- Participate in Georgia/Florida Leadership regional activities and meetings
- Work with Georgia/Florida Leadership to set the vision for the Tallahassee office
- Implement activities aimed at reaching IRC Strategic Action Plan for the Tallahassee office
- Develop local processes to achieve strategic goals
- Demonstrate a ‘Duty of Care’ for employees by creating an engaging work environment that encompasses employee well-being and job satisfaction.
- Work with Development staff in Georgia and Florida to ensure that the Tallahassee office has the resources necessary to accomplish service delivery and strategic goals
- Facilitate regular staff meetings, hold team meetings and provide direct supervision meetings
- Provide training and oversight on IRC policies and protocols
- Work closely with Georgia/Florida Human Resources and/or IRC’s Regional Human Resources Director to resolve issues when there is an identified performance situation
Programmatic Oversight:
- Directly supervise a team of supervisory and/or direct line staff who provide or oversee direct service functions
- Design programs in response to needs of beneficiaries that align with IRC and/or funder requirements
- Oversee and monitor program performance in order to achieve excellence in programming at all levels
- Work closely with staff to achieve desired service delivery outcomes and desired client and/or community impact
- Directly responsible for participating in grant writing and submissions with Georgia/Florida Development Team
- Report writing for all program reports and reports to funders or to IRC headquarters
- Meet with clients regularly and as needed when incidents and grievances arise
Community Leadership:
- Maintain and develop strategic relationships with local community stakeholders (e.g., community-, ethnic- and faith-based organizations, social service providers, public safety officials, elected officials, etc.)
- Develop and maintain partnerships in the community with local funders (e.g., private foundations, businesses, local donors and public institutions such as county boards, city stakeholders and statewide stakeholders)
- Represent IRC in Tallahassee in quarterly consultations with local stakeholders
- Support Georgia/Florida Development team with implementation of local fundraising activities
- Work with Georgia/Florida Development team on grant writing for future funding opportunities and on all required reporting for grants/revenue streams
- Cultivate local donor relationships
- Work with Georgia/Florida Leadership to engage with local media
Finance:
- Contribute to Tallahassee’s annual budget development
- Review monthly revenue and expense reports for the Tallahassee office and make necessary corrections to address over/under spending
- Monitor and manage local programmatic budgets and directly responsible for decisions regarding expenses for the Tallahassee office to ensure fiscal integrity and fiscal responsibility
- Other related duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Education: 4-year college degree is required. A graduate degree in business/management, public administration, human services, social work, or a related field is highly preferred.
Work Experience:
- 5+ years of program management experience, preferably in Social Services, Non-profit or refugee services sectors.
- A minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated, successful people management experience is required
- Demonstrated success working and communicating effectively in a multi-cultural environment
- Experience in refugee serving programming is highly preferred
Demonstrated Skills & Competencies:
- Proven ability to contribute both independently and as a key team member
- Demonstrated success in people management across multiple teams is a must
- Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills combined with the proven ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively
- Systems thinker that ensures teams are working together effectively and efficiently to deliver services to clients with a variety of needs across a wide range of programs
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Fluency in additional languages preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook); database experience strongly preferred
- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle with current insurance
