Main responsibilities:
Planning, Coordination, and Context Analysis
- Participate in the development of activity workplans and follow them accordingly
- Comply with field coordination directions of VA Team Leader and flag uncoordinated efforts to them
- Actively participate in internal VA team meetings and share pertinent updates.
- Liaise with DRC HDP Humanitarian Demining, Non-Technical Survey, Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE), and other DRC sectors to ensure an integrated approach.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on the context, including gaps in VA services and needs of Explosive Ordnance (EO) victims.
Implementation of Victim Assistance
- Support the organisation of coordination roundtables and other such public events on the rights and needs of People with Disabilities (PwD), including EO victims.
- Support (external) consultants, developing VA Service Directory, executing needs assessment or other such services rendered.
- Support the work with survivor organisations to analyse their needs and gaps as well as include them into VA programme designs.
- Provide Cash Assistance via Targeted Individual Assistance to direct and indirect victims of EO accidents.
- Provide Age, Gender, and Disability (AGD) Inclusion training as well as any other capacity building trainings on VA.
- Support the equipping of businesses, employment centres, and educational institutions with barrier-free working environments.
- Gather good practices and success stories and share them with VA Team Leads and VA Team Leader.
- Support the execution of advocacy mass media campaigns and other types of communication of the rights and needs of PwD, including EO victims.
- Contribute to the development of information leaflets, brochures for awareness-raising activities, and ensure their distribution as instructed.
- Support Community Liaison (CL) with local communities in order to identify EO victims as well as community needs related to VA programming.
- Comply with VA SOP, TMP, and other relevant guidance, flagging issues with their implementation to VA Team Leads and/or VA Team Leader.
Reporting, Proposal Writing, and Information Management
- Use developed Information Management (IM) tools to share VA activity data to DRC IM Team and VA Team Leader, ensuring the highest standards of data protection and confidentiality.
Procurement, Warehouse, and VA Archives
- Flag any gaps or damages in required work equipment to VA Team Leader.
- Upload VA data and Means of Verifications to the online VA archive and store hard-copy documents.
- Upon request, support procurement efforts, including developing the required documentation.
Monitoring and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC)
- Cooperate during VA (internal and external) monitoring as well as in-country or HQ Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC).
- Contribute to the lessons learnt reports on VA activities.
Required experience and competencies:
- minimum 1 year of work experience, preferably in the field of humanitarian response for an INGO, Bachelor degree in Social Work or related social science discipline.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with public speaking capacity.
- Good knowledge of conflict management.
- Positive ‘can-do’ attitude and resilience.
- luency in Ukrainian and Russian languages, with at least a basic level of English.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office package (with focus on Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
