MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilitate structured sessions at the Baity Center based on IRC’s Psychosocial support (PSS) modules to promote the well-being of children.
Plan, organize and conduct emotional support groups and Focus Group Discussion (FGD); recreational and destressing activities, and curriculum for children at the Baity Center.
Plan and organize awareness sessions in the Baity Center in collaboration with community members, community groups, and any other stakeholder presents in the field when needed.
Schedule community sessions with the Local Civil Society Organization (LCSO) partner and collaborate in providing group psychosocial support to children in the community.
Directly facilitate sessions focused on building awareness of different themes related to their wellbeing, safety planning, and deliver key messages on child protection.
Ensure all logistic aspects for the conduct of the awareness and PSS sessions is in place.
Train community-based groups and committees and support them for conducting outreach activities.
Involve and follow-up community committee members in organizing and conducting awareness sessions on Child Protection related issues in collaboration with CP officer.
Share with the CP officer on a weekly basis all the needed items for the work.
Identify children at risk through regular contacts and visits in the community and areas of intervention and refer to CP case workers for assistance.
Work closely with partners to ensure that boys and girls benefiting from the Baity Center services are not exposed to any form of harm during the activity implementation.
Supporting in ensuring accurate data is collected, entered the database and detailed analysis provided using the right tools and in consultation with the M%E team and the supervisor.
Participate in conducting surveys, needs assessments, safety audits, and service mapping exercises.
Support in collecting data on relevant activities and draft reports in consultation with the supervisor and MEAL team.
Participate in activity planning meetings and share activity reports with the supervisor on a weekly basis or as may be required.
Support the logistical arrangements of the relevant activities at the Baity Center and in the community.
Contribute to the procurement of materials used for the implementation of relevant activities.
Perform any other duties as may be guided by the supervisor.
Key Relationships
Position Reports to: Child Protection Officer
Staff management: The CP Facilitator will manage community outreach volunteers (COVs).
Working Environment: This position will be based in the Baity Center with frequent travel to other project locations.
Qualifications
Job Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field – education, social sciences, public health, etc.
At least 2 years of experience implementing child protection activities, including implementing PSS activities and working with vulnerable groups in emergency/conflict or post-conflict settings.
Experience in participatory approaches and child participation methodologies
Familiarity with child protection programming including psychosocial support, access to education and health, community-based child protection as well as other various protection measures to ensure children’s safety.
Proven experience in delivering training to children and adults.
Good understanding of the local context and cross-cultural sensitive issues
Good communication skills with fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic languages.
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and power point.
Experience in regular report writing.
Ability to take initiative and adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
Demonstrated high level of flexibility, responsiveness, and reliability.
Ability to work under pressure and strong time management skills to meet both short-term and long-term objectives.
