About Organization
The greatest humanitarian organization in the world, the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), works to end hunger in every country. WFP’s goal is to contribute to the world’s effort to eradicate hunger during our lifetimes. Every day, WFP works in every country to make sure that no child goes to bed hungry and that the most vulnerable and impoverished people, especially women and children, have access to the wholesome food they require. Food is sent by WFP in times of need, saving the lives of those who have been affected by war, civil unrest, and natural catastrophes.
WFP uses food to assist communities in rebuilding their lives following a disaster. Every year, the World Food Programme provides food aid to more than 80 million individuals in 80 different countries. Especially in many of the most distant and vulnerable regions of the world, the organization has the global reach, extensive field presence, local knowledge, and partnerships needed to give access to food and contribute to long-term solutions.
