1. Introduction

HBT.ORG (Help Build Tomorrow) is a Non-Government, Non-Profit US 501c3 Organization established by a group of professional individuals aiming to create a more hopeful tomorrow. The organization is committed to providing holistic support to poverty-stricken children and their families in Afghanistan. In addition to ongoing efforts to educate children, HBT actively engages in campaigns aimed at uplifting communities. By empowering women as primary household providers and ensuring access to essential medical treatment, particularly for cancer patients, the organization strives to bring warmth, safety, and hope to those in need.

HBT.ORG is a volunteer-led organization, and our operations emphasize community-driven impact over financial incentives. We seek individuals who are passionate about helping the people of Afghanistan, whose commitment goes beyond a salary, and who have a demonstrated track record of dedication to humanitarian causes. Transparency, integrity, and enforcing ethical standards are at the core and forefront of HBT.ORG. Financial control must be accurate and funds must be genuinely spent on those in need. Personal favoritism and office politics will not be tolerated.

Job Description:

1. The Operations Manager will be responsible for:

Leading the planning, execution, and monitoring of humanitarian aid programs.

Managing logistics, procurement, and distribution of aid supplies.

Ensuring financial accountability and operational compliance with local regulations.

Overseeing security protocols to ensure staff and asset safety.

Supervising staff and building local partnerships for enhanced impact.

2. Responsibilities

2.1 Operations Management

Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with HBT.ORG’s mission and goals.

Ensure timely execution of aid distribution programs, including food drives and emergency relief.

Monitor project progress and troubleshoot operational challenges.

Establish and oversee standard operating procedures (SOPs) for program efficiency.

2.2 Logistics & Supply Chain Management

Plan and manage the procurement, transportation, and storage of goods.

Establish relationships with local and international suppliers.

Ensure proper documentation and tracking of inventory.

Optimize logistics to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.

2.3 Financial & Compliance Oversight

Work with the finance team to ensure proper budgeting, expense tracking, and financial reporting.

Ensure compliance with Afghan laws and international donor requirements.

Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures.

Maintain full transparency and integrity in financial matters to ensure accountability.

2.4 Security & Risk Management

Develop and enforce security protocols for staff and operations.

Stay informed of security developments and adjust operations accordingly.

Liaise with local authorities and security personnel to ensure staff safety.

2.5 Team Leadership & Coordination

Supervise field staff, providing guidance and support.

Conduct training and capacity-building programs for team members.

Build relationships with local organizations, government agencies, and international partners.

Duration & Compensation:

The contract will be for an initial period of 12 months, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and funding availability. Compensation will be moderate, reflecting our volunteer-driven model, and is intended for individuals who are intrinsically motivated to serve the people of Afghanistan.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications & Experience:

Must be able to travel on short notice to affected areas as required.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, International Development, or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of experience in operations, logistics, or program management, preferably in a humanitarian or nonprofit setting.

Strong understanding of Afghanistan’s humanitarian landscape and operational challenges.

Experience in budget management, procurement, and security planning.

Fluency in English, Pashto, and Dari is a must.

Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse teams.

Experience in social media management, photography, and field management is required.

A demonstrated passion for humanitarian work and a proven track record of service to the Afghan people.

Strong commitment to transparency, integrity, and ethical financial control.

Key Deliverables:

Development and execution of an annual operations plan.

Monthly financial and operational reports.

Efficient procurement and logistics processes.

Secure and effective distribution of humanitarian aid.

Compliance with local and international regulations.

A strict commitment to financial transparency and accountability.
