Objective 1: To ensure the technical monitoring of project activities
- Monitor the progress of 131 family latrines;
- To ensure the diagnosis of the functional condition of the gardens of the houses and their rehabilitation by strengthening the security of the equipment against theft and vandalism;
- Develop technical specifications for the construction of 131 family latrines;
- Ensure the progress of activities in accordance with the execution plan through regular field visits;
- Implement hygiene promotion activities (raising awareness of good practices);
- Revitalize and train the management committees of household gardens for the maintenance of the structures, their sustainability and provide them with technical support;
- Inform the supervisor of any delays or deficiencies related to the quality of activities under their responsibility and propose solutions;
- Ensure constant monitoring and daily and weekly reporting of activities carried out;
- Participate in all meetings and clusters in the Wash sector;
- Perform any other tasks as requested by the supervisor in order to develop IRC Niger programs in general and the Wash program in particular.
Objective 2: Contribute to the sound management of resources for the WASH component
- Ensure that the necessary equipment is available for the smooth running of activities;
- Collect all logistical and financial information that can support the daily activity report;
- Follow the logistical, administrative and financial procedures for carrying out the activities;
- Comply with IRC’s financial and logistical procedures in all activities;
- Establish plans for purchases, expenditures and monitoring of expenditures for the technical activities for which he/she is responsible and submit them to the supervisor;
- Ensure that the documents for monitoring and paying day laborers are up-to-date and comply with IRC standards;
- Express the logistical and financial needs of the activities for which he/she is responsible.
Objective 3: To communicate the organization’s activities and objectives to local communities and partners:
- Explain to local partners and the population the activities, intervention criteria and purpose of the program;
- Participate in any other task related to the project and IRC activities;
- Ensuring good collaboration with all external partners and communities where IRC conducts activities.
- Assistant Technique Wash
- Ensure the supervision of activities with the technical services: Hydraulics, Sanitation and Rural Engineering.
REQUIRED PROFILE
- University Diploma (BTS or Bachelor’s degree) or equivalent in one or more of the following fields: Civil engineering, rural engineering, environmental science, geology, hydraulics, sociology, community development;
- Be of Nigerian nationality or have a legal permit to work in Niger;
- Have at least two years of experience in implementing emergency project activities
- Have at least 1 year of experience in a similar position within an international NGO;
- Have one year of experience in training and in the field of water and sanitation;
- Good knowledge and experience working with local partner agencies and ability to deliver training;
- Demonstrated experience in integrating gender and diversity issues into the promotion of environmental health;
- Good experience in capacity building for rural communities;
- Having a strong sense of organization, planning, and adherence to execution schedules;
- Autonomy, critical thinking and initiative;
- Good communication skills for teamwork, and good reporting skills;
- Capable of working in humanitarian crisis conditions and under pressure, then adapting to evolving needs, must be able to travel at short notice and work in difficult conditions;
- Proficiency in using Word and Excel;
- Excellent command of French, Kanuri and Hausa;
- Be prepared to work in humanitarian crisis conditions and under pressure
