  • Masters in relevant discipline preferably in Social Science, Climate Change, Disaster Management, environmental science, geography, agriculture etc. from a reputable university (qualification can be flexible depending on experiences).
Experience

Additional Requirements
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in managing climate change/projects preferably in the areas of climate adaptation and resilience building.
  • Proficient in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) project implementation.
  • Skilled in developing both qualitative and quantitative project reports.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in capacity building and mentoring project teams.
  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills, with fluency in both spoken and written English.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft and Google online tools, including Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive for seamless productivity and collaboration.
  • Strong critical and strategic thinker with exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholder and project beneficiaries.
  • Conscientious and efficient in meeting commitments, observing deadlines and achieving results.

Responsibilities & Context

Job Context:

Association for Community Development (ACD) is looking for a suitable applicant for its project ‘Cultivating Change’

The outputs of the project includes that rural women and their communities will have (i) increased food, nutrition and income security, (2) secured land and resource rights and with their movements are actively leading in inclusive governance and sustainable, management of their natural resources, and (3) increased resilience to climate change and with their movements are leading climate action.

Job Description:

• Provide strategic direction and supervise the project and mentor staffs.

• Organize meetings on climate change impacts, financing, disaster preparedness drills, social forestry activities.

• Establish community resource hub for evidence gathering, information exchange, rejuvenating local agriculture practices, seeds bank & food bank, technology transfer, capacity development, building awareness on rights and entitlements of women.

• Organize consultations on gaps of climate financing modalities on tracking climate projects, identification of failure drivers and finance mobilization.

• Form and strengthen Feminist Climate Movement.

• Manage the project budget, ensuring sound financial management practices, and support the development of communication and knowledge products around climate change initiatives.

• Assist in planning, coordinating, and promoting capacity-building events such as webinars, training sessions, and workshops.

• Develop communication and visibility materials featuring government services.

• Represent the program at meetings, workshops and training with stakeholders for effective advocacy at district, Upazila and Union level.

• Ensure that project activities are implemented according to established project principles with adequate community participation.

• Monitor and track project progress against objectives and indicators, identifying and addressing any challenges or deviations.

• Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

• Conduct field visits and meetings with staffs to monitor project progress and implementation quality.

• Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, including government representatives, CSOs, youths, NGOs, CBOs and women leaders.

• Prepare progress reports and documentation on events, program learnings, processes and impacts, and submit to senior management of ACD.
